Braelon Allen is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: Allen’s strong start to his NFL career continued Sunday in a loss to the Denver Broncos. Starter Breece Hall was struggling and as a result, Allen saw more playing time.
The rookie running back had nine touches for 46 yards and played a season-high 36% of offensive snaps. Four games into the season, Allen currently ranks higher than Hall in Next Gen Stats Rush Yards Over Expected (RYOE) and ranks higher than Hall in PFF’s Rushing Grade.

At this point, Allen should be rostered in most formats. He is emerging as a quality RB2 option behind Hall and has seemingly carved out his own role in the offense. Allen offers standalone value and is arguably the top RB handcuff.
Be prepared to spend big or burn a high waiver claim if he’s still available in your league. The way he’s playing, it could very well be worth it.
