Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

5043 articles

You won't find a bigger Cubs fan than myself. Aside from my love of fantasy sports, which includes MLB, NFL and NBA, I own my own animal care business. I graduated from Columbia College in Chicago and currently reside in Chicago, IL. My love of fantasy sports started for me in the early 2000's and I have steadily been active with the same group of friends year in and year out for every league in baseball, basketball and football. I am hoping to help all RotoBaller members with any questions they may have. I consider myself an expert with minor league prospects, as it is a love of mine. I hope to give the best advice I can to the RotoBaller world!

Javier Baez Sidelined On Sunday

Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez will be sidelined on Sunday versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Baez left Saturday's game with back stiffness, so it's no surprise to see him out of the lineup. Baez remains day-to-day. The Cubs have Monday off, so Tuesday versus the Cleveland Indians would be the earliest that Baez could have a […]

Danny Mendick Hits First Home Run Of 2021

Chicago White Sox infielder Danny Mendick made his first career start in the outfield on Saturday and went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run. Mendick's home run was part of an eight run first inning that helped set up a long night for Royals pitchers. The utility man has been on and off of the […]

Yoan Moncada Drives In Three Runs

Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada went 2-for-5 with a run scored and three RBI in Saturday's victory versus the Kansas City Royals. Moncada entered the game with three hits over his last 18 at-bats, but has been having a nice season overall. Moncada is now hitting .262 on the season with three home […]

Lance Lynn Walks Four In Victory

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lance Lynn picked up his third victory of the season on Saturday versus the Kansas City Royals. Lynn went five innings in the victory and allowed one hit, zero runs, four walks and six strikeouts. The four walks were the most he's allowed this season and managers shouldn't be concerned. […]

Trevor Williams Only Lasts Four Innings On Saturday

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Trevor Williams only lasted four innings versus the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday afternoon. Williams allowed two runs on five hits, two walks and six strikeouts. Williams didn't last long against his former team and has failed to go past four innings in two starts during the month of May. Williams has […]

Javier Baez Exits Early With Back Stiffness

Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez left Saturday's contest versus the Pittsburgh Pirates in the top of the eighth inning with back stiffness. Manager David Ross doesn't believe that the injury is serious and Baez should be considered day-to-day for now. Baez finished the contest 1-for-3. If Baez were to miss time, infielders Eric Sogard and […]

Zack Collins Crushes Second Home Run

Chicago White Sox catcher Zack Collins went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Friday's victory versus the Kansas City Royals. Collins drew the start with Yasmani Grandal struggling and getting a day off. Collins is now hitting .220 with two home runs and six RBI on the season. Collins isn't getting enough […]

Carlos Rodon Throws Another Gem

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Carlos Rodon continued his strong season Friday versus the Kansas City Royals. The lefty went six innings and allowed five hits, no runs, no walks and recorded eight strikeouts. The veteran has been lights out this year and more importantly has been healthy so far. Rodon now owns a shiny […]

White Sox Give Yasmani Grandal Friday Off

Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal will rest on Friday versus the Kansas City Royals. Grandal has really struggled in his second year with the White Sox and is hitting a weak .121 on the year with two home runs and nine RBI. Grandal deserves a longer leash then most players, due to his track […]

Joc Pederson Picks Up Three Hits

Chicago Cubs outfielder Joc Pederson went 3-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI in Friday's victory versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Pederson was activated earlier this week and has gone 4-for-9 in his return. Pederson has been off to a rocky start with his new club and is now hitting .183 with one home run […]

Rex Brothers Records Save On Friday

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Rex Brothers picked up his first save of the season on Friday versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Brother relieved Ryan Tepera and inherited a runner on first base with two outs. Brothers would allow a single and hit by pitch, but then got Bryan Reynold fly out. Closer Craig Kimbrel was seemed […]

Zach Davies Puts Together Best Start Of The Season

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Zach Davies put together his best performance of the season in Friday's victory versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Davies went seven innings and allowed five hits, zero runs, one walk and one strikeout. Despite the nice performance, Davies still owns an ugly 6.30 ERA and can be avoided in all formats for […]

Ian Happ Sent To Injured List

Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ (ribs) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 4, with bruised ribs. Happ collided with teammate Nico Hoerner on Sunday and has been unavailable since. Outfielder Jake Marisnick and infielder Matt Duffy should both see an increase in playing time with Happ sidelined. Both have been […]

White Sox Activate Garrett Crochet

The Chicago White Sox have activated left-handed relief pitcher Garrett Crochet (back) from the 10-day injured list. Crochet spent the minimum amount of time of the shelf with an upper back strain. Crochet was the White Sox's first-round pick last season and has a 1.00 ERA in nine innings this year. The lefty is projected to […]

Ian Happ Remains Sidelined On Friday

Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ (ribs) remains sidelined for Friday's contest versus the Pittsburgh Pirates with sore ribs. Duffy will play third base […]

Matt Duffy Comes Up Big In Victory

Chicago Cubs infielder Matt Duffy went 3-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored, one RBI and a stolen base on Wednesday versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Duffy came up with a huge two-out RBI single in the bottom of the tenth inning to tie the game at the time and he would eventually score the […]

Adbert Alzolay Whiffs Seven In Five Innings

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Adbert Alzolay put together a strong performance on Wednesday versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Alzolay went five innings and allowed three hits, two runs, one walk and struck out seven on the evening. Alzolay has now gone three starts in a row with allowing just two runs and recording a minimum […]

Ian Happ Remains Sidelined

Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ (ribs) will remain sidelined on Wednesday versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Happ suffered bruised ribs after a collision with infielder Nico Hoerner on Sunday and sat out Tuesday's doubleheader. The good news is that it doesn't appear that Happ will require a trip to the 10-day injured list. Happ remains […]

Liam Hendriks Suffers Loss On Wednesday

Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks suffered his first loss of the season on Wednesday versus the Cincinnati Reds. Hendriks entered the game in the bottom of the ninth and recorded one out, but then came extra innings. Hendriks was then brought back out for the bottom of the tenth inning. With a runner starting […]

Dallas Keuchel Throws Seven Scoreless Innings In No-Decision

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel put together a strong performance in Wednesday's no-decision versus the Cincinnati Reds. The lefty logged seven innings of scoreless ball and allowed just two hits with three walks and one strikeout. Wednesday's strong outing lowered his ERA to a solid 3.79 on the season. Due to his lack […]

Michael Kopech Walks Four Batters In Relief

Chicago White Sox relief pitcher Michael Kopech went 1 2/3 innings in relief and allowed one hit, no runs, four walks and struck out four on Wednesday versus the Cincinnati Reds. Kopech has made two starts for the Pale Hose, but most of his work has been out of the bullpen. Regardless of the role, […]

Anthony Rizzo Will Rest On Wednesday

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo will receive a routine day off on Wednesday versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Rizzo has been off to a slow start and is hitting .224 with five home runs and 10 RBI on the season. Third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant will slide over to first base on Wednesday and Matt […]

Javier Baez Crushes Eighth Home Run

Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez came up big in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jason Heyward Blasts Third Home Run In Victory

Chicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward went 1-for-3 with a walk and solo home run in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Craig Kimbrel Blows Save On Tuesday

Chicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel picked up a blown save in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Keegan Thompson Gets The Job Done In First Career Start

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Keegan Thompson made his first start of his career in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Los Angeles Dodgers and picked up a no-decision. Kyle Hendricks Returns To Form In Victory

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks bounced back in a big way on Tuesday in Game 1 of a doubleheader versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hendricks went all seven innings and cruised through the first six innings, but allowed a solo home run to catcher Keibert Ruiz in the top of the seventh inning. Hendricks […]
