AAA Texas 500: Daily Fantasy NASCAR DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks

Chris Durell brings you DraftKings fantasy NASCAR advice, DFS lineups picks and sleepers analysis for Chris Durell brings you DraftKings fantasy NASCAR advice, DFS lineups picks and sleepers analysis for the AAA Texas 500 from Texas Motor Speedway

Welcome back for another week of daily fantasy NASCAR. The intensity is peaking with just two races remaining before the field gets cut in half for the final team before a champion is crowned at Homestead. With Jimmie Johnson picking up the win last weekend at Martinsville there are only three spots remaining as the Sprint Cup series heads to Texas Motor Speedway for the AAA Texas 500.

The track is a 1.5 mile intermediate with 24° banking in the corners and is one of the fastest tracks on the circuit with speeds averaging over 190 mph. The name of the game will be rostering that one or two drivers who will get you a ton of dominator points or make up a bunch of spots from a bad qualifying run.

If you want a closer look at some of the variables that go into the picks each week be sure to check out the weekly Daily Fantasy NASCAR cheatsheet. It will be a free offering for the remainder of the season before receiving some upgrades as we get ready for the 2017 season. It includes all drivers track history(5 year), current form(last 5 races), season Loop data, historical DraftKings points, salary trends, practice & qualifying ranks and a weighted ranking system that takes all of these variables into account. When opening the cheatsheet you are going to see my initial weighted ranking on the far right. You can fully customize the rankings by clicking "File" at the top left of the sheet and clicking "Make a Copy" which will open the same cheatsheet in another screen which will be fully customizable for you. If you have any questions about the cheatsheet or my rankings you can contact me via Twitter(@Jager_Bombs9).

Daily Fantasy NASCAR: DraftKings DFS  Lineup Picks

Favorite to win:   Joey Logano ($9,400)

Looking at the cheatsheet, before final practice numbers are in, Joey Logano tops the weighted ranks this week. He sits outside the cut line four points behind Kyle Busch and will need a strong finish to position himself for the the elimination race next week before the final race at Homestead, Miami. Of all the drivers in the +$8K  range this week Logano is the only one not named Jimmie Johnson or Kyle Busch to pick up a win here at Texas over the past five years. The #22 team appears to have give him the equipment to contend this week as well as he was 4th in opening practice, qualified 3rd for the race and then finished 9th in second practice. At an elite sub $9K price this week he is elite in all formats.

Mid Tier Value: Carl Edwards  ($8,900)

Edwards continues to run a price below $9K making him an elite value as one of the eight remaining Chase drivers. What I like most about Carl this week is the urgency the #19 team now faces sitting 32 points behind the cut line. With just two races remaining before the final cut he will most certainly need a win to advance to the final. The good news is he has experienced success here with three career wins and has scored a Top 10 in seven of the last 10 races here at Texas Motor Speedway.

Low End Value:  Greg Biffle ($7,000)

It has been a disappointing season for the #16 team as they only recorded three Top 10 finishes and missed the Chase. Biffle has seen his price drop once again and is at it's lowest point since New Hampshire earlier in the season. It is a great time to buy on the non Chaser as he has recorded back to back Top 15 finishes and returns to one of his most successful tracks. He has three career wins here at Texas with the most recent in the Spring of 2012 and over the past five yeas(10 races) has a nice 12.6 average finish(9th best).

Also Consider: Kyle Busch ($10,200)

Early in the week I had Kyle pegged as my pick to win. That was before Practice and Qualifying happened. Not even 10 minutes into the first practice Kyle drifted up the track, smashing into the outside wall and damaging the right front pretty significantly. The #18 team was forced to pull out the backup car but were unable to complete and practice laps before qualifying.  They showed speed in Round 1 of qualifying but a loose radiator hose forced them into the garage during the second round leaving them with a 24th qualifying position for the race. As I am writing this final practice is on going and the #18 has moved up into the 3rd position. With what appears to be Top 5 speed in the backup car plus the upside of 23 place differential points has Kyle as an elite GPP play this week.
