NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 3/6/22

After an unusual small slate last night, we will cap the week off with a five-game slate starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

We have a few teams playing on the second half of back-to-backs: Seattle, Chicago, San Jose and Ottawa. The Kraken and their league's fifth-worst 3.54 GA will host the Hurricanes, while the Lightning will hope to strike down the Blackhawks in Chicago.

DISCLOSURE: Things may not be the same at puck drop due to COVID-19 and injuries. Make sure to monitor the news feed and play at your own risk.

Vegas Odds for the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

John Gibson- DK $7.9K || FD $7.0K

Opponent - San Jose Sharks

Gibson has been anything but a wall lately with two wins in his last five appearances. Granted, he has not been getting help from his team as a whole either. However, there is no better time to rebound than against a state rival. San Jose looked abysmal last night at home against Nashville and now they will be traveling on the second-half of a back-to-back. This could not create any better of a bounce-back for Gibson and the Ducks and to make matters even better, Gibson has the lowest salary on the slate.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Lehner(DK $8.3K || FD $8.1K), Andersen(DK $8.2K || FD $8.4K), Vasilevskiy(DK $8.1K || FD $8.6K), Forsberg(DK $7.1K || FD $7.4K)

NHL DFS Centers

Jack Eichel-DK $6.4K || FD $6.2K

Opponent - Ottawa Senators

Eichel is running with the bare minimum talent to produce after both wingers Mark Stone and Max Pacioretty went down with injuries, therefore, leaving the center by himself to carry his line. Ottawa is also not sporting the best defense after they gave up a season-high eight goals to the Coyotes yesterday. That bodes well for Eichel and his 1-1-2 line that he is barely mustering at the moment. Considering his salary is in the middle of the pack for centers, this is a great look for some value.

Sebastian Aho- DK $7.3K || FD $8.7K

Opponent - Seattle Kraken

Aho is surprisingly the third-highest salaried center on the slate in what can be considered a great matchup. The top-line pivot for the Hurricanes continues to produce and at times he has carried them more than he has needed to. In his last five games, he has a 2-2-4 line with 16.0 shots. Seattle currently possesses the league’s fifth-worst GA and the aggressive Hurricanes will look to wreak havoc on it.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Point(DK $7.5K || FD $8.5K), Dubois(DK $6K || FD $6.4K), Zegras(DK $5.5K || FD $5.8K), Karlsson(DK $3.7K || FD $4.8K)

NHL DFS Wings

Jesperi Kotkaniemi- DK $3K || FD $3.8K

Opponent - Seattle Kraken

If you are in need of some salary saving this is your man. Jesperi has done little to live up to his hype during his draft days with Montreal. He continues to get chance after chance and he has yet to deliver. However, Seattle is always a great time to take a chance on someone that will most likely garner little ownership and has a bottom-of-the-barrel salary.

Nikita Kucherov- DK $8.8K || FD $9.9K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

Chicago is still playing inconsistent hockey and now they have to entertain the Tampa Bay Lightning who are playing on a whole different level. Kucherov has been crazy good since his return to the lineup and in his last five appearances, he has a 3-5-8 line with 15.0 shots. You will have to pay a premium to get him, but he will be well worth it in a prime spot.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Stamkos(DK $7.2K || FD $8.5K), Svechnikov(DK $6.9K || FD $7.7K), Tkachuk(DK $6.4K || FD $6.4K), Marchessault(DK $5.1K || FD $6.5K), Ehlers(DK $4.5K || FD $7.2K), Dadonov(DK $3.4K || FD $4.1K), Lafreniere(DK $3.2K || FD $4.4K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Jacob Slavin- DK $4.6K || FD $5.6K

Opponent - Seattle Kraken

There are a few different ways to look at the defender position on this slate, however, it ultimately comes down to who does what for which salary. That is why we are looking at Slavin and his excellent floor. The defender has taken the reins over Carolina's top power-play ever since teammate Tony DeAngelo got hurt. Slavin not only has a similar floor to that of Hedman and Pietrangelo, but he is also approximately $1K less in salary than either of the former. He also gets a soft matchup against Philipp Grubauer and the Seattle Kraken.

Mikhail Sergachev- DK $3.7K || FD $5.6K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

Teammate Victor Hedman will most likely see the majority of ownership here, so we will pivot off and look at Sergachev who has been lighting it up over the last week or so. After not producing much of anything, the defender is exuberating confidence with his puck handling and his decision-making. In his last five appearances, he has a 2-2-4 line with 12.0 shots and 9.0 blocked shots.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Fox(DK $6.7K || FD $7K), Pietrangelo(DK $5.9K || FD $6.4K), Giordano(DK $5.5K || FD $5.3K), Pionk(DK $4.2K || FD $4.6K)
