ANALYSIS: It looks like Carolina’s Sam Darnold reclamation project is a raging success so far. Darnold has at least 275 passing yards in all three of his games with the Panthers. He’s also got three passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns, and just one interception in a new offense with an array of explosive weapons. The loss of Christian McCaffrey for a few weeks will put more pressure on Darnold to throw the ball, which means more opportunities to rack up some stats in a quarterback-friendly offense.
Making matters better, Darnold is about to enter a part of the schedule with a murder’s row of bad secondaries and defensive fronts. In the next five weeks, Darnold will face off against Dallas, Philadelphia, Minnesota, the Giants, and the Falcons. Four of those teams are allowing at least 20 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Atlanta and Minnesota are in the bottom five of defenses against quarterbacks this season. Add Darnold and take advantage of his easy matchups.
