Austin Gomber Roughed Up On Friday
Austin Gomber took the loss on Friday when he allowed five runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts across four innings in a 5-4 loss to the Giants. Gomber got off to a rough start in this one, surrendering four runs in the first inning. Wilmer Flores did most of the damage with a three-run homer. Darin Ruf would pick up an RBI single in the bottom of the second to account for the fifth and final run against Gomber. The 27-year-old has been fairly reliable over the last few months but this was a bad day at the office. He now owns a 4.09 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 100:31 K/BB ratio over 101 1/3 innings (20 starts). He'll look to bounce back against the Padres at home in his next turn.
