Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said on Friday that getting a contract extension done with safety Tyrann Mathieu will become a priority after the NFL draft. The Honey Badger is entering the final season of a three-year, $42 million deal in 2021. Mathieu, 28, is a three-time All-Pro and has become one of the most versatile and smart ballhawk secondary players in the NFL. He has 10 interceptions, two sacks and 137 tackles in his two seasons with the Chiefs, and his pre-snap intelligence and post-snap reactions make him a key player for KC's defense. If the two sides can't come together on an extension this year, the franchise tag could be in play in 2022.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
