FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (4/7/21): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Stan Son highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 4/7/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We've got a nine-game slate for Wednesday. ATL, BOS, DEN, IND, MEM, and NOP are playing the second leg of a back-to-back.

There are two games at 7:00 pm ET (MIN @ IND and WAS @ ORL), two games at 7:30 pm (NY @ BOS and NO @ BKN), three games at 8:00 pm (CHA @ OKC, MEM @ ATL, and DAL @ HOU), one game at 9:00 pm (SA @ DEN), and the late-night hammer at 10:00 pm is UTA @ PHX.

Here are my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 4/7/21. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks. Keep an eye on Rotoballer’s injury news to stay up to date before lineups are locked.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Russell Westbrook, PG - at ORL ($11,100)

Rain or shine. Packed house or empty stadium. With Beal or without him. It doesn't matter because Westbrook is going to get his. Over the last five games, he's gone for 55.3, 49.3, 41.2, 62, and 88.3 FD points. The Magic boost the fantasy points per minute to point guards by 5.75% above league average and the last time these two teams met (12/26), Westbrook put up 52 FD points.

Isaiah Thomas, PG - at BKN ($3,900)

Thomas made his debut yesterday and played 25 minutes. The efficiency was terrible (30%) but it was his first game back in a long, long time. The encouraging things were the 13 field goal attempts and the 27.8 usage rate. Brooklyn plays fast, eschews defense, and boosts the fantasy points per minute to point guards by 8.17% above league average. Now, there's some risk here since it's a back-to-back so keep an eye out for any reports. With that said, there's tons of upside at this price too.

Terrence Ross, SG -vs. WAS ($6,600)

The game environment is a juicy one as the Wizards play at the fastest pace in the league and are 26th in defensive efficiency. With Operation Tank in full effect, Ross becomes the de facto alpha of the team. Over the last four games, he's garnered a usage rate of 25.7, 29.9, 25.7, and 30.3. The shooting efficiency has been horrendous, but Ross can get hot on any given night. This is the prime spot for that to happen.

Will Barton, SG - vs. SA ($5,800)

Barton has been on quite the heater recently. Over the last three games, he's averaged 35.3 minutes, 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, four assists, and 1.3 steals. That's translated to 41.2, 33.6, and 30.6 FD points. Now, he's been shooting 53% from the field. On the season, he's converting 43% of his field-goal attempts so regression will come at some point. When? Nobody knows but the matchup against the Spurs is a good one as they boost the fantasy points per minute to shooting guards by 12.68% above league average.

Also consider: Kyrie Irving ($10,400), Lonzo Ball ($7,800), Dwayne Bacon ($4,800)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Michael Porter Jr., SF - vs. SA ($7,200)

Remember when Porter had difficulty cracking the rotation? Yeah, me neither. MPJ has been an integral part of the Nuggets and a model of consistency from a fantasy perspective. Over the last six games, he's scored at least 30 FD points in all with a high of 51.4. The last time he faced the Spurs, he contributed 16.8 FD points. It was a different time then, though, as he was only playing 19 minutes per game. Now he's playing over 32 minutes per game.

Kenrich Williams, SF - vs. CHA ($4,900)

Williams has started two of the last four games and averaged 24.4 minutes. He only played 22 minutes in the last game due to an ankle injury but he's good to go for Wednesday. Over that span, he's contributed 15.8, 30, 24.1, and 22.1 FD points. He contributes a little something in every category which provides a relatively safe floor and can access ceiling if he knocks down his shots.

Zion Williamson, PF - @ BKN ($9,700)

Man, Zion has been a beast lately. Over the last eight games he's played, Zion has scored at least 40 FD points in each game with one a 50-burger and another a 64.5 explosion against the Nuggets. Now he gets a matchup against a Nets team that plays at the 13th fastest pace and is 25th in defensive efficiency. The Pelicans are 28th in defensive efficiency so there could be a ton of points put up in this one.

Rudy Gay, PF - @ DEN ($4,800)

Gay only plays 22-24 minutes per game, which is a shame because he averages 1.03 FD points per minute. He usually lands in the 20 FD range but there is some variability. In his last three games, he's gone for 15.9, 25.1, and 43.2 FD points. There's upside when things break right because the usage rate is 23, so he's involved on the offensive side of the ball but it's the contributions in the defensive stats that provide that extra oomph.

Also consider: Bogdan Bogdanovic ($7,200), James Ennis ($5,400), Julius Randle ($9,400), Jae'sean Tate ($6,000)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Karl-Anthony Towns, C - @ IND ($11,400)

Towns has put up at least 50 FD points in each of the last seven games with two of those above 60. Now he gets a matchup against a Pacers team that has been very generous to opposing centers, as they are boosting the fantasy points per minute by 8.41% above league average.

LaMarcus Aldridge, C - vs. NO ($5,800)

Since joining the Nets, Aldridge has played 29, 26, and 29 minutes, contributing 25.2, 24.1, and 39.8 FD points. Kevin Durant is expected to return for this one so it remains to be seen how things will operate. Will Durant provide Aldridge with better looks or will the opportunities shrink? I side with the former but acknowledge the latter is well within the range of outcomes. As for the matchup, it's a good one as the Pelicans boost the fantasy points per minute to centers by 5.87% above league average. The eye-opening stat is that the bump in three-pointers is 31.62%.

Also consider: Clint Capela ($10,400), Nikola Jokic ($10,200), Wendell Carter Jr. ($7,300)
