Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Hitter, Pitcher Lineup Picks for Thursday 8/13

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 2020 fantasy baseball on 8/13/20. Kipp Heisterman identifies hitters and starting pitchers (SP) to stream based on matchups for shallow and deep leagues.

Welcome to another edition of MLB Daily Fantasy Baseball Streamers! The season continues to roll along and we here at Rotoballer are there for all of your streaming needs.

RotoBaller has been dishing out streamer advice for years. We're always streamin and dreamin. Each day we'll publish some of the best streaming options to consider in your fantasy baseball daily league lineups. Streaming pitchers and position players to exploit a matchup are extremely important in fantasy baseball, especially in a truncated season like this one.

While there are only six games to choose from today, we should still be able to find a few solid streamers for your lineups. The best options on today's slate come from the Nationals, Phillies, Pirates, and Reds.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Shallow League Streamers (50% Rostered)

Howie Kendrick (1B/2B/3B, WAS) - 42% Rostered

Howie Kendrick has started the season on fire as noted by his .324/.375/.432 slash line. He has especially performed well vs. left-handed pitchers like David Peterson as he posted a .460 wOBA in 117 AB against southpaws in 2019. Peterson has also allowed a .364 BABIP to right-handed hitters in 2020 and has also allowed one HR in 12 IP.

Starlin Castro (2B/3B, WAS) - 45% Rostered

Castro in another right-handed bat for the Nationals that has shown solid success vs. left-handed pitching. In 2019, Castro posted a .374 wOBA and hit nine of his 22 bombs off of left-handed pitchers. So far in 2020, Castro has picked up where he left off by posting a .643 wOBA and batting .571 vs. southpaws.

Deeper League Streamers (25% Rostered)

Jake Arrieta (SP, PHI) - 19% Rostered

Arrieta has started the season strong by posting a 2.45 ERA with 10 K across 11 IP. He gets a revenge matchup vs. his former team in the Orioles and could have another successful day. While the Orioles have only posted a 20.3% K rate vs. righties, they are ranked 23rd in the league in terms of BB rate with a rate of just 7.8%. This tells me that a crafty veteran like Arrieta can take advantage of their inability to walk. The Orioles BABIP is also due to regress as they're currently posting a .304, which ranks fifth in the league.

Colin Moran (2B/3B, PIT) - 38% Rostered

Moran will be going up against Anthony DeSclafani, who is a mixed bag of sorts. DeSclafani has been outstanding to begin 2020 as he has posted a 0.00 ERA with eight K across 11 IP, but he has been faulty against left-handed hitters in the past. As recent as 2019, DeSclafani allowed a 5.3 FIP and 1.46 WHIP to lefties while also allowing 11 of 23 HR to them. Moran could take advantage of this matchup as he has posted a .386 wOBA with four bombs off right-handed pitchers to begin the 2020 campaign.

Deepest League Streamers (10% Rostered)

Jay Bruce (1B/OF, PHI) - 3% Rostered

Jay Bruce and the Phillies draw a matchup vs. Thomas Eshelman and the Baltimore Orioles and this could mean good things for the veteran. Bruce has started the season on fire vs. right-handed pitching as noted by his .615 wOBA across 23 AB. This includes smacking three HR and two doubles while driving in six RBI. Eshelman does not have a lot of MLB experience, but did post a 7.87 FIP in limited action vs. lefties in 2019 and has posted an 11.02 FIP so far in 2020, albeit in just two IP.

Adam Haseley (OF/PHI) - 1% Rostered

With such a small slate, we are going to have to double up in multiple spots and Philadelphia seems like a good spot just like Washington. Adam Haseley has started 2020 playing well and is especially good vs. right-handed pitchers. So far in 2020, Haseley has posted a .450 wOBA vs. right-handed pitchers in 19 AB while also posting an .874 OPS. While this is a small sample size, he also posted a .342 wOBA with five HR in 170 AB vs. righties in 2019.

Jesse Winker (OF, CIN) - 6% Rostered

It appears Trevor Williams will be the starter for the Pirates and that makes Jesse Winker a solid play as he will likely be batting fifth in the lineup. He profiles well against right-handed pitching as he has posted an .877 OPS with 22 of his 24 HR vs. righties since 2018. In 2020, he has started hot and is currently posting an .816 OPS with one HR while going 9/32 against them. Williams, on the other hand, has struggled vs. left-handed hitters as he posted a 6.26 FIP in 2019 across over 42 IP.
