The San Francisco Giants selected Dallas Baptist shortstop Jimmy Glowenke with the 68th overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. Glowenke was fourth in batting average (.328) last year and was the Missouri Valley Conference freshman and defensive player of the year. He also hit .296 in the Cape Cod League last summer. Glowenke was recovering from offseason elbow surgery this spring and didn't see the field on defense. His only above-average tool is his right-handed bat, and he makes line-drive contact consistently. The 21-year-old has below-average speed, though, which will likely push him to second base at the next level. Because Glowenke lacks power, he could become a utility type in the future.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
