Updating a previous report, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones said he plans to play in the Week 1 season opener on Sunday against the Vikings. Jones and the Falcons are close to reaching an agreement on a contract extension, but Jones said all he's concerned about right now is "being ready to go" this weekend. The veteran is heading into his ninth NFL season and caught 113 passes for 1,677 yards and eight touchdowns in 2018. He sounded unsure if he'd suit up on Sunday earlier on Thursday, but it appears he's changed his tune.
