DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/13/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on June 13th, 2019. Ben Rolfe's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

A seemingly quiet day on Thursday, with just 11 games taking place. Two of those games take place in the afternoon, before a fuller nine-game slate in the evening. All of those nine games make up the featured DraftKings slate today, despite the Cubs @ Dodgers game starting almost an hour and a half later than the eighth game.

Interestingly, the Red Sox are the biggest favorites on the slate, despite losing two of three to the Rangers so far in this series. However, David Price has been incredible at home this season, so that is factoring into the equation there. Unsurprisingly the biggest total is in Colorado, and both the Rockies and Padres players are priced accordingly. After that, there is a relatively high line in Chicago, with the Yankees present, but again that has been factored into the price point of most of the interesting players there. However, there is still plenty of value to be found on this slate, especially down in Tampa Bay, where Tyler Skaggs is taking to the mound for the Angels.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/13/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @benrolfe15.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Zack Greinke, ARI (@ WSH) - $9,300

This feels like a bargain price for Greinke. the veteran pitcher may not have the most upside on the slate, but has a 2.87 ERA on the season and is facing a middling opponent in the Nationals. Greinke will also have some help from the elements, as the weather is expected to help suppress run scoring slightly. The real selling point here is the price because, at this cost, the relative lack of ceiling for Greinke does not become an issue. There is every chance he will be able to return that important two fantasy points per $1k that you look for from a pitcher.

Marcus Stroman, TOR (@ BAL) - $7,600

Stroman has had a couple of rough outings recently but there is the opportunity for him to bounce back in this one. The Orioles rank 20th in home runs, 24th in slugging and 25th in runs this season, and the weather in Baltimore is fairly neutral overall. Additionally, Stroman is facing off with Gabriel Ynoa, and should, therefore, have a decent shot at the win. That should help him get close to the two fantasy points per $1k mark as well, especially given the relatively low price he is costing on this slate.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C - Kevan Smith, LAA (@ TB) - $3,400

This is simply a pick because of the nice value and the fact Smith has been hitting .412 this season against left-handed pitchers. He has not hit a home run but does have six doubles in 40 PA against lefties, giving him an impressive .461 wOBA. If Smith is not in the lineup for the Angels then James McCann ($3,900) is my next best option, as he also has good numbers against left-handed pitchers.

1B - Justin Smoak, TOR (@ BAL) - $4,300

Smoak has extremely lopsided numbers this season, having hit 11 of his 12 home runs off of right-handed pitchers. With righties on the mound, he has a .390 wOBA and a .274 ISO. Additionally, he is hitting .284 away from home this year, and is playing in a nice hitters park for right-handed hitters in Baltimore.

2B - Ryan McMahon, COL (vs. SD) - $4,300

McMahon has been solid against left-handed pitchers this season, hitting .333 with three home runs, a .400 wOBA and a .267 ISO. He is also a relatively cheap way of getting a Rockies hitter in your lineup in Coors Field.

3B - Yandy Diaz, TB (vs. LAA) - $4,000

Diaz has been strong against pitchers from both sides of the mound this season, but his numbers against left-handed pitchers stand out. So far in 2019, he is hitting .349 with four home runs, a .425 wOBA and a .254 ISO against lefties. In addition, the majority of his success has come at home this year, where he has a .290 ISO an a .401 wOBA.

SS - Gleyber Torres, NYY (@ CWS) - $4,600

Much like with Smoak, Torres has an extremely lopsided line this season. 13 of his 14 home runs have come with right-handed pitchers on the mound, giving him a .364 wOBA and a .270 ISO. Additionally, the weather in Chicago is looking set to aid hitters, so Torres can hopefully find some success against former Yankee Ivan Nova.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Ian Desmond, COL (vs. SD) - $4,400

Desmond has two factors in his favor in this matchup. The Rockies are at home and they are facing a left-handed pitcher. Against lefties this season, Desmond has hit five home runs, with a .288 batting average, .397 wOBA and a .329 ISO. Additionally, he has a .215 ISO and a .367 wOBA in Colorado this season.

Avisail Garcia, TB (vs. LAA) - $4,400

Garcia is having a pretty good season all around, and his numbers against left-handed pitchers are solid. In just 77 PA, Garcia has hit four home runs, giving him a .250 ISO and a .348 wOBA. Additionally, he has had most of his success in Tampa, hitting for a .252 ISO and a .381 wOBA at home.

Alex Verdugo, LAD (vs. CHC) - $3,500

I like Verdugo as somewhat of a budget option in this game. The young outfielder has only hit one home run so far this season off left-handed pitchers, but he has another four extra-base hits, a .352 batting average, and a .391 wOBA against lefties.
