RotoBallers, welcome back to our daily fantasy hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings. Below you will find our NHL cheat sheet - DFS lineup picks, sleepers and stacks for Saturday, April 8 of the 2016/2017 NHL season.

The final weekend of regular season hockey is upon us and there are still some playoff positions to be worked out. The Maple Leafs sit in the final Eastern Conference wildcard spot but the Lightning are just two points behind with the Islanders just three points behind. With two games remaining, they will not only be looking to clinch the wildcard but possibly move past the Bruins for third in the Atlantic.

Saturday brings us a split slate with three matinee affairs followed by 11 games on the main slate this evening. For this article, we will concentrate on the main slate. Let's jump into the picks.

NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Saturday, April 8

For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel and DraftKings. Jack Eichel (C, BUF)

DraftKings - $7,800, FanDuel - $7,700

In just 59 games this season, Eichel has set a new career high with 57 points and looks to be the leader of the Sabres for years to come. With the popularity of Connor McDavid and Sidney Crosby tonight, Eichel makes a terrific projected low owned tournament play with just as much upside as those two.

Jaden Schwartz (W, STL)

DraftKings - $5,800, FanDuel - $5,900

Can't afford Tarasenko tonight? No problem. Take the big discount and roll with his teammate who is very afordable on both sites under $6K. Over his last 10 games, Schwartz has tallied 11 points with a +9 rating and also put 34 shots on goal giving him a high floor. He is a safe option in all formats.

Alex Pietrangelo (D, CBJ)

DraftKings - $5,800, FanDuel - $6,000

Another Blues player in a great spot tonight at a very affordable price compared to his peers. With Shattenkirk out of town, Pietrangelo is the man and has done nothing but impress. For fantasy, he provides value across the board and over his last 10 games has nine points with 15 blocks and 30 shots on goal.

Stacking Option

Pittsburgh Penguins - Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, Conor Sheary

The combination of value plays Guentzel and Sheary make a great stack for cash games and add Crosby for enormous upside in tournaments. Crosby always brings it against the Leafs as his three points in two games this season gives him 54 for his career in just 36 games played.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes

For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.

For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
