RotoBallers, welcome back to our daily fantasy hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyAces. Below you will find our NHL cheat sheet - DFS lineup picks, sleepers and stacks for Saturday, December 3 of the 2016/2017 NHL season.
Split slate today with four early games with another eight games on the main slate. Both sites are running separate slates and will not be running an all day slate. NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Saturday, December 3
For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel, DraftKings, and FantasyAces. Marc-Andre Fleury (G, PIT)
DraftKings - $8,200, FanDuel - $8,700, FantasyAces - $7,650
The Pens are big home favorites(-210) tonight to the visiting Detroit Red Wings with Fleury projected to be starting. After two dreadful starts where he allowed 10 goals against, he rebounded nicely beating the Stars on Thursday to open December. Even as a big favorite tonight he should only be considered in tournaments with his inconsistent play but the upside is most definitely there.
Connor McDavid (C, EDM)
DraftKings - $8,600, FanDuel - $8,600, FantasyAces - $5,950
He comes with a hefty price tag and faces a Top 10 defense but that still isn't enough to fade McDavid right now. He is blazing hot with 15 points over his last seven game point streak pushing his league leading total to 34 on the year. He is an elite play in all formats until his price either eclipses $9K on FanDuel and DraftKings or he goes more than a game without a point.
Vladimir Tarasenko (W, STL)
DraftKings - $7,900, FanDuel - $8,600, FantasyAces - $5,700
While I prefer McDavid on FanDuel at the same price, Tarasenko is the play from a PTS/$ perspective on both the other sites. He is currently in one of his goal scoring grooves with six goals over his last four games and now sits with 13, just three back of leader Sidney Crosby. The Blues are a great target tonight as they are also hot as a team winning three straight.
Zach Werenski (D, CBJ)
DraftKings - $6,200, FanDuel - $5,600, FantasyAces - $5,450
With Erik Karlsson and Kris Letang in tougher matchups tonight I love taking the savings and rolling with Werenski. He has been a pleasant surprise this season playing a top role for the Blue Jackets and has already picked up 16 points in 22 games. He provides a high floor with his shot volume averaging over 3.5 shots per game. Safe in all formats.
Stacking Option
Edmonton Oilers PP - Connor McDavid, Milan Lucic, Leon Draisiatl
The Oilers powerplay caught fire last game(3 for 4) and it should get plenty of opportunities to carry that momentum over. They face a Ducks team tonight that leads the league in penalty minutes per game(12.46). Not only is McDavid red hot but his line mate Milan Lucic is also riding a six game point streak. Leon Draisaitl plays on a different even strength line but pairs up nicely with the duo on the powerplay and has picked up points in seven of his last nine games.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
