FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (6/14/16): MLB DFS Advice

Fifteen games slated for Tuesday but we'll go ahead and concentrate on the fourteen that start tonight. If you're interested in playing the early only or the all day contests, Philadelphia at Toronto is a very early start, 12:37 EDT. I'm not sure if there was an announcement I may have missed from FanDuel regarding prize pools - or if the current merger talks just happened to excite them - but the prize pools tonight are absolutely enormous. Throw in a lineup or sixteen.

As always, I give you the games tonight with the highest projected (or predicted) run totals, via the over/under lines from Vegas. Those games are Tigers at White Sox (9), Phillies at Blue Jays (9), and the Yankees and Rockies (11.5). Looking at positive park factors, the hitters with the best advantages today are the Yankees and Rockies hitters, the right-handed batters of the Tigers and White Sox, and the right-handed hitters of the Red Sox and Orioles. In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/14/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Cleveland Indians left-handed batters versus Chris Young

Whatever magic Chris Young had left in the tank appears to have left the man, as he has been absolutely atrocious this season, posting a 6.37 ERA while allowing an average of 10 hits per nine innings. The Indians hitters have been hot, and they should be able to easily exploit Young and his 2.41 HR/9 - the highest number of today's slate by far. If you'd like to target a particular side, go with the Indians left-handed batters as Young has surrendered a .512 wOBA, .870 slugging percentage and 6.23 HR/9 to them thus far in 2016. No, nothing in that previous sentence is a typo. My favorite targets are Carlos Santana, Jason Kipnis and Tyler Naquin.

Texas Rangers versus Eric Surkamp

Surkamp hasn't been terrible this season, but he certainly looks exploitable, and even more so when you look at his career splits. On a day where you could justify heading in a lot of different directions for your stacking options, I give you the powerful batters of the Rangers as I think they could fly under the radar, especially on a day where they're in pitcher friendly Oakland and there's a Coors game. This season, Surkamp has surrendered 1.98 HR/9 and is averaging less than six strikeouts per nine innings. For his career, left-handed batters have hit him very well, as marked by their .401 wOBA, .558 slugging percentage and 2.92 HR/9. My favorite Rangers for tonight are Ian Desmond, Rougned Odor and Shin-Soo Choo.

Also Consider: New York Yankees versus Jorge De La Rosa

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Madison Bumgarner (SP, SFG) - $11,900

MadBum is almost entirely matchup proof, meaning you could honestly make a good case for him being your pitcher for the night on any given night  - regardless of opponent. Tonight is not one of those nights. He actually has a brilliant opportunity ahead of him, as he takes on the Brewers in pitcher friendly AT&T Park in San Francisco. For the season, Bumgarner has posted a 10.4 K/9 while keeping the ball in the yard (0.7 HR/9) and maintaining control (1.01 WHIP). The Brewers present an opportunity for a very high strikeout game, as they've gone down swining in 29% of their at-bats this season against southpaws.

Drew Pomeranz (SP, SDP) - $9,700

Pomeranz has seen his price raise 3K over the past 10 days - rightfully so based on his strong performances - but he is still right around the mid tier today in terms of pricing. I think he not only warrants the price increase, but he has the matchup and opportunity ahead of him tonight to exceed value. For the season, Pomeranz owns an 11.46 K/9 - the best of the slate - and has done a good job of keeping the ball in the yard, as marked by his 0.72 HR/9. Those are essentially Bumgarner numbers right there. Tonight, he pitches in his home, pitcher friendly park and takes on an opponent that is striking out in 25% of their at-bats against left-handed pitching.

Also Consider: David Price (SP, BOS) - $10,500 (GPP)

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C)

Brian McCann (C, NYY) - $3,700

The price would be a little steep if we were essentially paying just for the Coors effect, but McCann has been a southpaw destroyer this season and he takes on an awful one in Jorge De La Rosa. For the season, McCann has posted a .350 wOBA and, more importantly, a .223 ISO. That should certainly play well in the thin air at Coors Field.

Also Consider: Jarrod Saltalamacchia (C, DET) - $2,000 (Punt/GPP)

First Base (1B)

Jose Abreu (1B, CHW) - $3,400

Abreu is back and he is certainly heating up after homering in each of the past two nights. Those performances raised his ISO split over .200 for the year while only bringing up his price $400. At this price, he's somewhat of a bargain, especially on a night with a lot of first baseman priced over 4k. He has some of the highest positive park factors working in his favor today and his wOBA and ISO splits are 72 and 117 points higher, respectively, against right-handers than southpaws.

Also Consider: David Ortiz (1B, BOS) - $4,100

Second Base (2B)

Chase Utley (2B, LAD) - $3,100

Mr. Utley gets a big park factor boost this evening and he's got the splits to warrant your consideration in both cash games and tournament formats. For the season, he's posted a .348 wOBA and .162 ISO against right-handed pitching. Those numbers aren't awe inspiring, but consider the wOBA and ISO are both 100 points higher than when he faces left-handers. When he does his damage, it's on nights like tonight.

Also Consider: Robinson Cano (2B, SEA) - $3,900

Shortstop (SS)

Corey Seager (SS, LAD) - $3,600

Now that his price has dropped down a bit, he's an incredible bargain in this price range. Seager has posted excellent splits against right-handers - .387 wOBA, .236 ISO - and gets a nice park factor boost this evening. He could certainly fly under the radar, too, thanks to Coors Field action taking place.

Also Consider: Marcus Semien (SS, OAK) - $3,000

Third Base (3B)

Alex Rodriguez (3B, NYY) - $4,000

I tried to give you as many suggestions away from Coors Field as I could, but I can't resist Rodriguez when he's facing the likes of Jorge De La Rosa. Rodriguez's splits have been very strong this season, as he's posted a wOBA of nearly .400 and his ISO sits at .283.

Also Consider: Danny Valencia (3B, OAK) - $3,500

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Carlos Gonzalez (OF, COL) - $4,300

Gonzalez is the most loved player in my batter algorithm tonight and for good reason. He has park factors working in his favor and his splits are outrageous. His .344 ISO split is the tops among all outfielders taking the field this evening.

Ian Desmond (OF, TEX) - $4,000

I mentioned Ian above as part of one of my favorite stacks but he warrants a spot on your roster even if you decided against stacking the Rangers. Ian has posted a very impressive .398 wOBA and .227 ISO against left-handed pitching this season. What a steal he's been for Texas in 2016 - and hopefully for you and I tonight.

Jake Smolinksi (OF, OAK) - $2,300

After suggesting two high priced outfielders I present you some salary relief with tournament performance upside in the form of slugger Jake Smolinski. Jake has posted incredible splits against southpaws this season in a small sample, with a .440 wOBA and incredible .330 ISO.

Also Consider: Alex Dickerson (OF, TAM) - $2,900
