Daily Fantasy Baseball Injury News and Lineup Updates for DraftKings and FanDuel - 4/26/16

Chris Olson highlights MLB injury news and lineup updates for daily fantasy baseball cash games and GPPs on DraftKings and FanDuel for 4/26/16. Make sure to check out these updates before setting your DFS lineups.

The Orioles are one of the best teams in the league on the road to start 2016, but finished 2015 as one of the worst. I will take Jake Odorizzi to capitalize on the high strikeout potential and fade what looks to be a small sample anomaly.

Nathan Karns has tremendous blowup potential against the Astros due to his sky-high walk and home run rates.

In this article, we’ll be providing you with critical lineup updates and injury news for MLB games on 4/26/16. We’ll try to update this article up until games so you have the latest information to set your daily fantasy baseball lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings.

MLB Injury Updates for 4/26/16

UPDATE: Michael Brantley batting cleanup in first start since returning from a shoulder injury.

UPDATE: Travis d'Arnaud placed on the disabled list due to rotator cuff strain. Kevin Plawecki will likely see the bulk of time at catcher in his absence. Rene Rivera recalled to act as his backup.

Joe Ross will not make his scheduled start against the Phillies after leaving his last outing due to a blister on his finger. Max Scherzer will take the mound in his absence.

Russell Martin has missed the last two games while recovering from neck spasms. Martin is unlikely to return Tuesday regardless of his condition, as Josh Thole has become the personal catcher of R.A. Dickey.

Yoenis Cespedes has missed the last three games while dealing with a knee injury. Cespedes said he felt better after having the knee drained, but he is still considered day-to-day. Alejandro de Aza will likely continue to start for as long as he is sidelined. UPDATE: Juan Lagares draws into the lineup in place of Cespedes.

Ian Kinsler missed Monday's contest against the A's due to flu-like symptoms. Mike Aviles could once again grab a start if Kinsler is unable to return.

Brandon Phillips left Monday's game against the Mets after being hit in the hand with a pitch. X-rays taken after the contest returned negative, but there is no timetable for a return. Ivan De Jesus will likely start at second base if Phillips needs to miss time.

Alex Rodriguez sat out Monday against the Rangers after leaving Sunday's contest with a strained oblique. Carlos Beltran could continue occupying the DH role for as long as he is sidelined. Dustin Ackley will likely remain in right field while Aaron Hicks rehabs a shoulder injury.

Jorge De La Rosa could start against the Pirates after having the outing pushed back while recovering from the flu.

Matt Holliday had to leave Monday's game against the Diamondbacks due to cramping in his right leg. Jeremy Hazelbaker could start in left field if Holliday remains out Tuesday.

Carl Crawford is expected to be activated from the disabled list after recovering from a lower back injury. Crawford will likely be the starting left-fielder upon his return, meaning Enrique Hernandez would return to the bench.

MLB Lineup Updates for 4/26/16

UPDATE: Trevor Story will not play Tuesday against the Pirates. No injury has been reported. Cristhian Adames will start at shortstop in his place.

UPDATE: Ryan Braun will not play against the Cubs on Tuesday. No injury has been reported. Ramon Flores gets the start in left field.

UPDATE: Lucas Duda out against lefty Brandon Finnegan. Wilmer Flores gets the start at first base.

Jeff Francoeur and Tyler Flowers could draw into the lineup against lefty David Price.

David Ortiz is expected to be used in a pinch-hitting capacity for as long as the Red Sox are in Atlanta.

Sean Rodriguez could get the start at first base if lefty Jorge De La Rosa starts for the Rockies, sending John Jaso to the bench.

The Astros will send Dallas Keuchel to the mound, meaning Franklin Gutierrez and Dae-Ho Lee could replace Seth Smith and Adam Lind, respectively.

Chris Johnson will start at first base while Justin Bour sits against Clayton Kershaw. Martin Prado could return from the paternity list. Derek Dietrich may be in for a tough matchup if Prado remains away from the team.

Weather Updates for 4/26/16

Citi Field could see showers when the Mets take on the Reds, but the chance of precipitation sinks to just 10% by 9 PM EST.

We may have a similar situation in Denver, as the chance of precipitation doesn't reach higher than 25% after the start of the game.

Thunderstorms are expected throughout the evening in Arlington, which could put the matchup between the Rangers and Yankees in jeopardy.
