DFS EPL Picks And Tips For Saturday 1/16/16

With the Premier League having entered the second half of the season and Draft Kings adding new and improved rules to its soccer competitions, we're here to bring you the top picks for each position in this weekend's cash games and GPPs for EPL Daily Fantasy Soccer.

Below you'll find daily fantasy soccer notes and suggestions for goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and attackers.

Editor’s Note: Be sure to check out all of our soccer articles, and read more about the EPL Spanish La Liga and MLS

Premier League DFS Goalkeeper Picks For DraftKings

Kasper Scheichel – Leicester City - Salary - $3,800

Schmiechel was simply marvelous  in Wednesday's against Spurs. The Danish keeper, doing the best impression of his legendary father, parried away five on-target strikes from Tottenha's attack, preserving his clean sheet. The Foxes ultimately held onto all three points with a late set-piece header from Robert Huth, leaving them with a shared league lead in points with Arsenal. Riding high, Leicester get a softball this weekend when they face bottom-dwelling Aston Villa in Birmingham.

Premier League DFS Defense Picks For DraftKings

Top Pick - Leighton Baines – Everton - Salary - $4,700

There are very few fullbacks in the world that can do the things Leighton Baines can do, and even fewer that have been doing it consistently for so long. Upon his return from injury, the skipper is as stellar as ever, providing stability at leadership to the formally haphazard Toffee backline. In addition, Baines has been a fantasy superstar, scoring at least eight points in all five of his Premier League starts.

Value Pick - Matt Targett – Southampton - Salary - $2,200

Targett earned his first start of the year in the Saints’ midweek bout against Watford. Targett excelled in the opportunity, assisting in a goal and providing cover in the back as Southampton shut down the Hornets in the tune of two goals to nil. After a performance of such magnitude, it would be no surprise to see Targett get another inclusion in the starting XI.

Premier League DFS Midfielder Picks For DraftKings

Top Pick - Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City - Salary - $8,300

De Bruyne sent in an incredible 20 crosses during Man City’s 0-0 draw with Everton on Wednesday. With that said, fantasy players have grown accustomed to performances like this from the Belgian international. De Bruyne averages 16.6 points per game on DraftKings, the third highest output among midfielders. With David Silva’s return from injury, De Bruyne is no longer the only marked man on City’s flank. The increased spacial freedom has resulted in double-digit point performances in five consecutive weeks.

Top Pick - Dimitri Payet - West Ham United Salary - $6,700

Heeeeeees Baaaaaaaaaaack! After sitting out with a lower-body knock for over two months, Payet returned to action with vigor, picking up right where he left off in the Fall. The Frenchman was superb in West Ham’s midweek match at Bournemouth, assisting in a goal and scoring one of his own, ultimately tallying 30 total points on the day. Payet’s return couldn’t come at a better time, as West ham currently sits just one point off the top four.

Value Pick - Dele Alli - Tottenham Hotspur Salary - $5,500

What a superstar this kid has been, rising to every new challenge he’s had to face in his first Premier League season. In the New Year, head coach Mauricio Pochettino has trusted playing the 19 year-old higher on the pitch, increasing his fantasy value. Alli has scored double digit points in seven of his last eight matches, including three occasions in which the youngster scored twenty or more. Based on his current performance trajectory, Alli will not be had at such a low cost for very much longer.

Premier League DFS Midfielder Picks For DraftKings

Top Pick - Romelu Lukaku – Everton - Salary - $8,100

After a brief injury scare, Big Rom returned to Everton’s lineup on Wednesday for the Toffee’s 0-0 draw with Manchester City. Despite his goalless effort, Lukaku’s 15 scores on the season are still tied for the league lead with Jamie Vardy. Before the midweek bout, Lukaku scored at least nine fantasy points in a staggering ten consecutive matches. In his current form, there is no better striker in England, and no better daily fantasy option than Lukaku.

Value Pick - Shane Long – Southampton - Salary - $4,500

With Graziano Pelle struggling to regain his form, Shane Long has proved to be the Saints’ best option at striker. The Irishman is a feast or famine option, scoring as much as 25 points or as low as two, in Southampton’s latest five league matches. If given the opportunity to feast, Long could provide significant value, as his current price represents one of Saturday’s cheapest starting forward options.
