MLB DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers – DraftKings Advice for 9/1/15

Zitong's analysis and advice for the top MLB DFS lineup picks on DraftKings for 9/1/15, as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your daily fantasy baseball rosters.

As always, my goal with this article is to help you identify viable options to insert into your DraftKings lineups, based on pricing and matchups data. Here's a compilation of players I like when choosing a lineup for Tuesday, September 1st.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $100,000 in cash prizes, including 10K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

New York Mets LHB vs Aaron Harang

The New York Mets hold the third best offense in the league against right-handed pitching as left-handed batters, with a wRC+ of 117. It is also great strategy to load up on hitters against Aaron Harang, who has a 7.09 ERA since the All Star Break. Daniel Murphy and Curtis Granderson make for solid value picks, and even Michael Conforto deserves a mention for his nice hitting recently.

Philadelphia Phillies RHB vs Jonathon Niese

Let’s flip to the other side of the matchup. The Philadelphia Phillies actually hold a top 10 offense against left-handed pitching as right-handed batters, with a wRC+ of 119. Cesar Hernandez makes for a great bargain pick for your middle infield, while Cameron Rupp is a sleeper pick at the catcher position against the homer-prone Jonathon Niese.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Shelby Miller (SP, ATL) - $9300

Shelby Miller has a great matchup against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday. The Marlins hold the worst offense in the league against right-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 81. Miller should definitely be able to capitalize on this matchup before Giancarlo Stanton gets back into the lineup. Roll the dice here and hope the Braves offense can help Miller out with some run support.

Yovani Gallardo (SP, TEX) - $7500

The Yovani Gallardo roller coaster continues. If you need a lottery ticket in a larger competition pool, Gallardo should definitely be your man. He is coming off two nice starts against top offenses in the Blue Jays and the Tigers. Gallardo will face the San Diego Padres, who hold a bottom-ten offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 91.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Salvador Perez (C, KC) - $3200

Salvador Perez makes for a great value pick against opposing pitcher Justin Verlander at home. Perez has once again picked up his hitting as of late. He holds a wOBA of .327 against right-handed pitching this year and has dominated Verlander in his career. Perez is a lifetime 18 for 38 with two home runs against Verlander.

Edwin Encarnacion (1B, TOR) - $5600

Edwin Encarnacion is on fire. Encarnacion hit .402 with 11 home runs in the month of August. This one month pushed his season from disappointing to elite. Encarnacion should be able to continue his great hitting against opposing pitcher Cody Anderson at home. Encarnacion holds a great wOBA of .387 against right-handed pitching, while Anderson has been terrible over his past few outings.

Robinson Cano (2B, SEA) - $3700

Robinson Cano looks like a must start against opposing pitcher Scott Feldman on the road. Cano comes at an incredible bargain right now. He has hit .353 with eight home runs since the All Star Break, and also holds a wRC+ of 126 against right-handed pitching this year. Lastly, Cano has dominated Feldman in his career, going 8 for 22.

David Wright (3B, NYM) - $4800

It is nice to see David Wright back and producing. While he is still in danger of being rested on a day-to-day basis, this matchup against Aaron Harang seems too good to turn down. Wright has hit .304 with a home run since returning from the DL, and has dominated his lifetime matchup against Harang. Wright is a career 15 for 33 with one home run against Harang. As a precaution, check the starting lineups prior to the game.

Eduardo Escobar (SS, MIN) - $2900

Eduardo Escobar has actually been one of the hottest shortstops in the league, and yet he can still be rostered for this incredibly low price tag. He is 20 for his last 45, with four home runs. Escobar should be a solid pick against opposing pitcher Chris Sale at home. Escobar holds a wOBA of .296 against left-handed pitching this season.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Jacoby Ellsbury (OF, NYY) - $4500

Jacoby Ellsbury is a must-start against opposing pitcher Rick Porcello on the road. Ellsbury holds a wRC+ of 105 against right-handed pitching on the year. He has picked up his hitting as of late and has dominated his career matchup against Rick Porcello in a small sample. Ellsbury is a lifetime 11 for 17 with four home runs against him.

JD Martinez (OF, DET) - $4300

JD Martinez should be a nice value pick as your secondary outfielder against opposing pitcher Johnny Cueto on the road. Martinez holds a wRC+ of 149 against right-handed pitching on the season. You should look to take advantage of the RBI opportunities Martinez may get on Tuesday, as Cueto has really struggled in his last two starts. He gave up four home runs over 11.0 innings, resulting in 12 earned runs.

Matt Kemp (OF, SD) - $4100

Matt Kemp makes for a great value pick as your tertiary outfielder against opposing pitcher Yovani Gallardo. While the rest of the Padres offense looks to be anemic, Kemp has actually hit fairly well as of late. He also has nice career numbers against Gallardo, going 7 for 22 with one home run.
