Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking

New York Mets RHB vs Adam Morgan

Right-handed hitters have absolutely pummeled Morgan this season, boasting a collective .345 wOBA against the left-hander. The Mets will look to capitalize on this, coming from a three game series in which they put up 33 total runs. Travis d’Arnaud ($4,500) is coming off of a rest day and will earn his price tag. As will Yoenis Cespedes ($5,100). Keep track of the starting lineup as game time draws closer, but I like Wilmer Flores ($3,500), Michael Cuddyer ($3,200), and Ruben Tejada ($2,900). David Wright will be back in the Mets’ lineup, but I’d be hesitant to pay $4,300 for a player’s first game back from the disabled list.

Detroit Tigers LHB vs Keyvius Sampson

The Tigers have hit well on the road in 2015, producing a team 109 wRC+. They’ll look to continue that trend on Monday against 24-year-old Keyvius Sampson. Sampson, recalled from Triple-A at the end of July, has been dismal against lefties, surrendering a .324 BAA. Anthony Gose ($3,700) will be worth a play. As will Victor Martinez ($3,600) and Tyler Collins ($2,800).

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Jacob deGrom (SP, NYM) - $12,000

If you’re inclined to use all of your resources on pitching, there aren’t more reliable plays than deGrom against the Phillies on Monday. DeGrom has struck out six batters or more in every start since July 2nd, winning four outings in that span. DFS players may be concerned about paying for a Citizens Bank Park start, but the Phillies haven’t been able to capitalize on their bandbox this season, producing just a .300 wOBA on the season. Philadelphia’s lineup, decimated with the recent injury to Maikel Franco, won’t have much of a chance against deGrom.

Buck Farmer (SP, DET) - $4,000

And now, on the completely opposite end of the spectrum, if you’d rather go all-in on offense on Monday, Buck Farmer is not as bad as his $4,000 price tag would suggest. Farmer’s put up ugly numbers in a small major league sample size, but has an excellent 3.29 FIP in 86 Triple-A innings this season. The Reds have not hit particularly well at home this season (.310 team wOBA) and have virtually no lineup depth behind Joey Votto, Todd Frazier, and Eugenio Suarez. Farmer is a risky play to be sure, but don’t be scared off by the Great American Ballpark factor.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Blake Swihart (C, BOS) - $3,200

Swihart has been on an absolute tear of late, entering Monday’s game on a 16-for-37 streak. I love his price tag against the White Sox, especially coming off of a rest day. DFS player should be aware that Swihart’s production is likely not sustainable (bolstered by a .364 BABIP), but take advantage of his hot-hitting while it’s here.

Miguel Cabrera (1B, DET) - $5,800

Miguel Cabrera at Great American Ballpark, facing a rookie starter is simply too good to pass up. Cabrera, with a season 193 wRC+, is all but certain to give Keyvius Sampson fits on Monday. If DFS players want to go cheaper at 1B, look to Yankees rookie Greg Bird ($3,500). Bird maintains a reasonable price tag and has entered the league with an .840 OPS through 29 AB.

Chris Owings (2B, ARI) - $3,100

Owings enters Monday’s game on a hot streak, hitting .340 in his last 50 AB. Owings, who has never faced opposing pitcher Lance Lynn, has hit significantly better against right-handed pitchers this season than lefties (.649 OPS compared to .489).

Derek Dietrich (3B, MIA) - $3,500

Dietrich’s hot hitting has earned him an elevated price tag, and for good reason; his .392 wOBA ranks near the top of the league. Dietrich, taking on J.A. Happ in a home matchup, has been sizzling of late, hitting .435 in his last 23 AB.

Jung-Ho Kang (SS, PIT) - $3,800

Kang’s price tag looks that much more favorable when taking into account just how shallow shortstop is for DFS purposes. Kang performs well on the road, carrying a 134 wRC+ into Monday’s game at Miami. Kang has never faced opposing pitcher Tom Koehler, but he is hitting righties better than lefties this season, (.817 OPS compared to .758).

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

David Peralta ($3,200) and A.J. Pollock ($5,500) - OF’s, ARI

Both Peralta and Pollock are excellent plays for Monday night, maintaining quality wOBA’s on the season (.375 for Pollock, .370 for Peralta). Each are riding hot streaks into Monday’s game with the Cardinals and possess elite power. Look for the duo to earn their price tags against Lance Lynn.

Nick Swisher ($2,800) - OF, ATL

Swisher seems to have flown under the radar for Monday’s game with the Rockies, despite being just two days removed from a multi-home run game at Wrigley Field. Swisher, hitting to a .365 wOBA in his short time as a Brave, will face off against left-hander Jorge de la Rosa at Turner Field.

Best $2,000 Player for DraftKings

Darnell Sweeney ($2,000) - 2B, PHI

Sweeney, who received a start in center field on Sunday, maintains the minimum $2,000 price tag on DraftKings despite his power and speed potential in the Phillies lineup. Darnell, acquired from the Dodgers in the Chase Utley trade, will likely play everyday down the stretch for Philadelphia- look to plug him into your DFS lineup for dirt cheap until his price inflates.
