Ranking The Top 40 College Football Teams - Week 8

Ranking

Previous Rank

1 Mississippi State 6-0 Idle 1
A week to bask in the glory of being #1.
2 Florida State 7-0 W: #5 Notre Dame 31-27 2
Florida State just keeps finding ways to get it done. Say what you will about Jameis Winston, the man doesn't lose.
3 Ole Miss  7-0 W: Tennessee 34-3 3
3-0 deficit in this game didn't last long as Ole Miss scores the last 34 unanswered.
4 Oregon 6-1 W: #22 Washington 45-20 8
They are back to being dominant now that the offenisve line looks healthy again. Still no interceptions thrown by Marcus Mariota.
5 Notre Dame 6-1 L: #2 Florida State 27-31 5
Looks like the Fighting Irish come out on the short end of the stick in what could have been the best game of the year thus far.
6 Michigan State 6-1 W: Indiana 56-17 6
Held Indiana to 11 yards passing for the game and outgained the Hoosiers 662-224.
7 Auburn 5-1 Idle 7
A week off for the Tigers as they try to get back in the win column this week against South Carolina.
8 Alabama 6-1 W: #20 Texas A&M 59-0 11
The Nick Saban press conference after their win over Arkansas was the best of the year thus far. After scowling over people who were upset the Crimson Tide only won by 1 point, Saban won't have the same problem after dismantling the Aggies.
9 Georgia 6-1 W: Arkansas 45-32 10
Freshamn Nick Chubb is ensuring the Todd Gurley loss is not a devastating one.
10 TCU 5-1 W: #19 Oklahoma State 42-9 13
TCU is rolling but it's staggering to think where they could be had they not let Baylor back in the game last week.
11 Kansas State 5-1 W: #9 Oklahoma 31-30 16
The Wildcats are the only undefeated Big 12 team as their only loss was against SEC foe Auburn, and that was a game they almost won.
12 Ohio State 5-1 W: Rutgers 56-17 12
The Buckeyes have been very consistent over the last month and are knocking on the door of the top 10.
13 Baylor 6-1 L: West Virginia 27-41 4
If you read my blog you will see I called this upset. Baylor is still a top tier team but they were not gonna run away with the Big 12.
14 Nebraska 6-1 W: Northwestern 38-17 14
Four more touchdowns for Ameer Abdullah as the stats will start to pile up.
15 Arizona 5-1 Idle 15
A pair of road games coming up for the Wildcats as they try to stay near the top of the Pac 12.
16 Oklahoma 5-2 L: #16 Kansas State 30-31 9
Michael Hunnicut HAD been one of the top kickers at the NCAA level, his draftstock just took a huge blow.
17 Arizona State 5-1 W: #17 Stanford 26-10 17
An impressive win for the Sun Devils as they showcased more than just a high powered offense.
18 East Carolina 5-1 Idle 18
Great to have a week off as East Carolina preps for a Thursday game.
19 Clemson 5-2 W: Boston College 17-13 21
Four wins in a row for Clemson.
20 Duke 6-1 W: #40 Virginia 20-13 24
Quality win against a very tough Virginia team as the defense stepped up on multiple occasions.
