Kurt Kitayama One of the Favorites at 3M Open
Kurt Kitayama finished tied for 40th at last week's Open Championship and will now focus on preparing for this week's 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota. Kitayama is returning to defend his title and has shown enough form to suggest he's back to contend. So far this season, he has nine top-25 finishes and two missed cuts in 18 starts. He finished tied for sixth in 2024 at the 3M Open. Over the past 12 months, he ranks in the 90th percentile in greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is important because over 37% of approach shots at last year's 3M Open came from this distance.
