Oscar Delp 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: Exceeding Expectations Early
For fantasy managers, the importance of patience cannot be overstated when identifying which tight ends have an opportunity to produce and which are best left on the waiver wire. One such tight end that is of interest, even as a rookie, is Oscar Delp of the New Orleans Saints. While rookie tight ends historically aren't known for production early in their careers, Delp finds himself in an intriguing situation. While Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant likely see the bulk of the receiving work early on, Delp is a better blocker than either tight end. It is pretty good as a pass catcher in his own right, despite the college production never living up to the hype, in part due to erratic quarterback play at Georgia. As an athlete, Delp compares favourably to Brock Bowers: he is bigger and faster, and his athletic score of 89 is 7 points higher than Bowers'. There is a path for fantasy relevance for Delp in 2026. Delp has the tools, and Tyler Shough is a vast improvement at the quarterback position. If Delp can surpass Fant of the depth chart, he could find himself on the field lining up in-line, thus allowing himself to earn future opportunities. Delp may not be the answer in season-long fantasy leagues, but in best ball formats, he is worth a late-round flier.
