Should I pickup Audric Estime or Evan Hull as fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 16 of 2025? Read our fantasy football waiver wire outlooks.
The New Orleans Saints' backfield has been decimated by injuries this season. Last month, top option Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) suffered a knee injury, and the primary No. 2 option, Kendre Miller (knee), sustained a torn ACL, which will keep him on the shelf for the final month of the season.
However, during their thrilling victory over the Panthers on Sunday, the "new" top option, rookie Devin Neal, exited early with a hamstring injury, leaving just Audric Estime and Evan Hull as the healthy backs on the roster.

Audric Estime Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
Following Neal's exit in the first half, Estime was given the slight majority of snaps. In their Week 15 contest, Estime logged 38% of the snap, while Hull also had just 30%. With this workload, Estime was given three rushing attempts and tallied just 11 yards. However, he was quite effective through the air, bringing in all three of his targets from 39 yards.
Even though his box score was not overly impressive, seeing him take the higher share of snaps, he will likely be given the slight edge in opportunities in Week 16 if Neal is unable to suit up.

Evan Hull Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook
As noted above, Hull was given slightly fewer snaps than Estime during Sunday's victory. Hull took 30% of the snaps, but was given a higher four rushing attempts, in which he tallied 12 yards.
However, unlike Estime, Hull was not targeted through the air, suggesting that his ceiling will likely remain considerably lower than Estime's.
While Hull could still have a role as the team's primary short-yardage back, it appears Estime is the preferred option if Neal misses Week 16.
Should I Pick Up Audric Estime or Evan Hull For Fantasy Football?
While neither option appears to carry much upside, managers looking to target a replacement in this backfield should pick up Estime off waivers. Seeing that he was given more snaps and is a more versatile player, both as a rusher and receiver, will provide him a higher floor and ceiling in a Week 16 matchup against the New York Jets, who have allowed the third-most PPR points to opposing RBs.
If Estime were to continue to earn a larger role, he would continue to hold FLEX appeal in a Week 17 matchup against the Titans, who are allowing the 13th-most PPR points to opposing RBs this season.
However, managers should continue to monitor Neal and Kamara's status before placing a waiver on Estime. If Neal or Kamara receives positive news on their status this week, either one would be heavily favored to take on a lead role in the backfield. If both options were to sit out, Estime would likely carry FLEX appeal in deeper formats in a favorable matchup against the Jets.
