Alex Golesh Taking Over Auburn Head-Coaching Job
Former USF head coach Alex Golesh has agreed to become the next head coach of the Auburn Tigers, according to On3Sports. Golesh has been a hot name this offseason after three successful seasons with the Bulls. He took over the program after a 1-11 2022 campaign and tallied a 23-15 record over the last three seasons, including two bowl-game wins and a 9-3 season in 2025. Golesh worked under Josh Heupel at UCF (2020) and Tennessee (2021-22) as his offensive coordinator. The 41-year-old is set to take over for Hugh Freeze, who was fired during the season after starting his Auburn career 15-19 despite having a strong roster in 2025. Golesh is expected to bring an explosive offense with him, something that has been lacking on The Plains since the end of the Gus Malzahn tenure.
