When is Josh Jacobs coming back? Will Josh Jacobs play again this season? Read about Josh Jacobs' return date and injury updates for 2025 as of Week 13.
Josh Jacobs is a touchdown-scoring machine. He has averaged 0.73 touchdowns per game since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2019, and he ranks 34th in the all-time rushing touchdowns list.
Jacobs has continued to score for fun this year, as Jonathan Taylor is the only player who has scored more rushing touchdowns (15) than the Packers' superstar (11). However, Jacobs couldn't extend his six-game scoring streak in Week 11, as he suffered a knee injury against the Giants and missed the team's Week 12 victory against the Vikings.
When will Josh Jacobs return to action, and what is his fantasy football outlook when he does? Let's dive in.

Josh Jacobs Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Jacobs' 2025 season had a solid start, as he recorded 180 yards and two touchdowns in his first three games. However, he went on a huge run in his next six games, scoring nine times and averaging 22.6 PPR points per game, a tally that was only bettered by Jonathan Taylor (28.4) and Christian McCaffrey (25.6).

Unfortunately, Jacobs' six-game scoring streak came to a crashing halt against the Giants in Week 11. He injured his knee early in the game, and although he managed to play through the pain and finish the first quarter, he left the game after two runs in the first minute of the second quarter.
He was replaced by Emanuel Wilson, who also started in his place in Week 12, as he had a breakout 102-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Vikings.
But it looks like Jacobs won't be out for long. After the Giants game, Jacobs claimed that he would "definitely" play in the Packers' crucial Thanksgiving game against the Lions.
Jacobs was limited on Tuesday's walkthrough, and HC Matt LaFleur believes he could be a game-time decision. "We'll see how he responds," LaFleur said. "We didn't have a full practice. Everything was a walkthrough today. So, we'll just see how he's feeling on gameday."
Josh Jacobs Fantasy Football Outlook
The Packers' next game against the Lions is crucial and could have huge playoff implications. The Lions have allowed over 120 rushing yards in three of their last four games, so the Packers could use this weakness to help them emerge victorious.

However, Emanuel Wilson's huge game shouldn't go unnoticed. Wilson was encouraged and supported by Jacobs before and during the game, and the undrafted RB believes he can continue contributing to the team's rushing attack alongside Jacobs.
"Hopefully we'll be the 1-2 [punch], and we'll continue to go on a run," Wilson said.
Wilson's emergence might be a problem for Jacobs' fantasy production, but it's unlikely that Wilson will take away Jacobs' red zone carries. 23 out of Jacobs' 26 rushing touchdowns as a Packer have come from inside the 10, making him one of the NFL's elite red zone backs.
The Packers' upcoming schedule is a mixed bag; they will play the Bears (fifth-worst rushing defense) twice, while also facing the elite Broncos and revitalized Ravens before finishing the season against a weak Vikings team.
Jacobs will remain a fantasy RB1 due to his potential to score touchdowns in any game.
