Week 10 Running Back Rankings Outlooks
Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III has been a fantasy disappointment this season; however, Walker could deliver flex value in Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona has a good-but-not-great defense this season. Walker already carved them up to the tune of 110 total yards in Week 4. Walker has been held in check since then, never topping 9.6 PPR fantasy points. Still, Walker is consistently receiving double-digit opportunities.
It is only a matter of time before he breaks off a big run. Seattle's offense is in a serious rhythm at the moment. They are throwing the ball extremely effectively, but they could improve their ground game. Look for Walker to have a bit of a bounce-back game this week to get the Seahawks' running game going again. If you need a flex play with upside, Walker could be your man in Week 10.
David Montgomery, Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery broke his two-game scoreless streak in Week 9, recording 50 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 12 touches against the Minnesota Vikings. However, Montgomery also coughed up a crucial fumble that played a key role in Detroit's loss to its division rival. The veteran has a lot of equity built up with the Lions coaching staff, so it's unlikely that the mistake will cost him playing time in Week 10 against the Washington Commanders.
Montgomery has seen fairly consistent usage so far this season, recording between 12 and 15 touches in five out of eight games played. He remains largely dependent on touchdowns for high-end fantasy production. The Commanders have allowed an average of 33.8 points per game over the last four weeks, so Montgomery should have a decent chance to find the end zone. He profiles as a low-end fantasy RB2 in Week 10 against Washington.
Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal struggled against the Tennessee Titans' weak run defense, gaining only 30 yards on 12 carries, averaging just 2.5 yards per carry. This Week 10 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers presents a much tougher challenge, as the Steelers just held the league's top running back, Jonathan Taylor, to a season-low 45 yards.
The Steelers have significantly improved their run defense since the first half of the season, making Vidal's chances of fantasy success highly dependent on a positive game script. With Hassan Haskins (hamstring) and Omarion Hampton (ankle) still on IR, Vidal will see the volume, but if the game stays close, a pass-heavy approach could limit his rushing opportunities. Vidal is considered a mid-range RB2 and a high-floor PPR FLEX option, projected as RB17. However, his ceiling depends on the Chargers securing an early lead.
