Carson Wentz Returns in Second Half in London
Carson Wentz (shoulder) injured his left (non-throwing) shoulder late in the first half on Sunday in the Week 5 contest against the Cleveland Browns, but he was able to return for the start of the second half after halftime. With J.J. McCarthy (ankle) inactive again in Week 5, rookie Max Brosmer was Minnesota's next man up if Wentz had been unable to return. Wentz immediately led the Vikings on a touchdown drive to begin the second half, so he appears to be fine to finish off this game, barring another injury. He has gone 10-for-17 in the contest for 112 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. So far, Minnesota's only passing touchdown came on a trick play, with running back Cam Akers connecting with tight end Josh Oliver. The Vikings have a bye in Week 6, so it's possible McCarthy will be back under center as the starter in Week 7 versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
