It’s been a long time coming, but Kyle Pitts is finally showing signs of the breakout we’ve been waiting for and it’s no coincidence that his offseason work with rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. is starting to show.
In Week 7, Pitts matched Drake London with 10 targets, tying for the team lead and signaling that Penix’s growing trust in his tight end is real. We already know the chemistry between Penix and London is strong, but now it looks like Pitts is building that same connection. And how do you build chemistry? Repetition. Volume. Targets. If Pitts keeps seeing 8–10 looks per game, this connection could evolve into something fantasy managers can count on weekly.
The Falcons made a subtle but crucial adjustment in Week 7 they lined Pitts up on the left side of the formation more often. The result? His second-highest average depth of target (aDOT) of the season was 8.1 yards. Pitts already leads all tight ends in aDOT this year on throws 20+ yards, and this added flexibility in alignment makes him even tougher to defend.
By moving him around the field, Atlanta is forcing defenses to account for Pitts in new ways stacking that on top of Bijan Robinson’s dynamic presence and Drake London’s consistency on the perimeter. For fantasy managers, that’s exactly the kind of usage shift that often precedes a breakout stretch. When Pitts starts winning from multiple alignments, it’s game over for opposing defenses.
Week 8 Outlook
After a tough loss, Atlanta draws one of the league’s most unpredictable teams the Miami Dolphins. While Miami sits around the middle of the pack in fantasy points allowed to tight ends, the pace of this matchup should work in Pitts’s favor. With how Tua Tagovailoa is playing right now, the Falcons figure to get extra possessions and more opportunities for Pitts to capitalize.

Rashee Rice Cooks Up a WR1 Finish
Once Week 6 concluded, fantasy managers everywhere breathed a sigh of relief. Rashee Rice is back. After a frustrating start to the season, the Chiefs’ second-year wideout returned to form in a big way, finding the end zone twice and reminding everyone why he was one of the offseason’s favorite breakout picks.
Sure, the yardage was light, but context matters. Kansas City didn’t need much from their passing attack against a struggling Raiders defense — they handled business early, and Rice’s red-zone usage did the rest. Now, as the Chiefs prepare to face the Commanders in Week 8, things are trending up once again.
Washington’s secondary has been leaking points, allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers (21.3) and already surrendering seven touchdowns through the air. It’s not the worst mark in football, but when you have Patrick Mahomes under center and Rice heating up, those numbers look like a prime opportunity.
And speaking of Mahomes, the Head Chef himself has been on a mission. After some early-season inconsistency, he finally has all his “ingredients” back in the kitchen. But make no mistake: Rashee Rice is the main ingredient.

He’s the explosive flavor that makes this offense dangerous again, and his timing with Mahomes is getting sharper by the week.

There’s domination and then there’s whatever Jonathan Taylor is doing right now. Over the past three games, the Colts’ superstar has been a one-man wrecking crew, averaging just under 30 fantasy points per game and looking every bit like the RB1 fantasy managers drafted him to be.
He’s not just scoring; he’s bulldozing. Taylor has logged three rushing touchdowns twice in his last three outings, giving opposing defenses nightmares every time he touches the ball. When he gets rolling downhill, it’s game over and this week’s opponent, the Tennessee Titans, might be next on the highlight reel.
Tennessee’s defense has been a soft landing spot for running backs all season, surrendering the third-most fantasy points to the position and a whopping 10 rushing touchdowns the kind of stat line that makes Taylor managers excited about the matchup. Their front seven has struggled to contain explosive plays, which is a problem when you’re facing the league leader in 10+ yard runs (18) and yards after contact (472).
It’s not just Taylor’s brute force making it happen it’s the guys in front of him. The Colts’ offensive line has quietly been one of the best run-blocking units in football, opening up massive lanes and letting Taylor do what he does best: punish defenders in the open field.

Expect the Colts to lean heavily on their workhorse as they look to exploit Tennessee’s soft run defense. A third straight multi-touchdown performance isn’t just possible — it’s probable. Taylor remains an elite RB1 with overall RB1 upside this week.
Kyle Monangai: Top 15 RB Again in Week 8
Week 7 gave fantasy managers a pleasant surprise — rookie running back Kyle Monangai cracked the top 15 at his position, showcasing a blend of burst, patience, and downhill power that perfectly fits Ben Johnson’s balanced offensive system.
This week, opportunity could knock even louder. With D’Andre Swift battling a recurring groin injury and carrying a high risk of aggravation, Monangai is expected to see an uptick in work. Johnson’s offense has leaned on the run heavily in recent weeks, averaging 31 rushing attempts per game over the last three contests. That kind of volume creates room for a second back to shine — and Monangai looks ready for the call.

In a high-scoring matchup and behind one of the most balanced play-callers in football, Monangai is positioned to keep his momentum rolling.
Aaron Rodgers, No Revenge, Tosses Six
Aaron Rodgers’ arm is fully alive. The throw at the end of Week 7 reminded everyone why this future Hall of Famer still has plenty left in the tank. The ball exploded out of his hand.

As his career has evolved, Rodgers has mastered the art of balance. He’s still one of the best deep-ball throwers in football, but he’s also embraced the short game — letting his playmakers do what they’re paid to do: make plays in space. The results speak for themselves. Through seven weeks, Rodgers is completing 45% of his passes 20+ yards downfield — a strong clip by any standard — and he’s already thrown five touchdowns of 20 yards or more.
This week, Rodgers and the Steelers welcome his former team, the Packers, to Pittsburgh in what’s sure to be one of the most emotional games on the Week 8 slate. Rodgers insists there’s no revenge on his mind, but whether you believe that or not is up to you. What’s not up for debate is his fantasy potential.
Rodgers has leaned heavily on his tight ends this season — and it’s paying off. Just last week, he threw four touchdowns to his tight ends, showing how much he trusts those big-bodied targets in the red zone. Conveniently, Green Bay has been one of the worst teams in the league against tight ends, allowing the second-most fantasy points to the position and giving up a touchdown to tight ends in three straight games.
If trends hold, Rodgers could be in for another fireworks display — and fantasy managers might want front-row seats.
Outlook
Aaron Rodgers enters Week 8 red-hot, and the matchup couldn’t be scripted better. Facing a Packers defense that bleeds points to tight ends and struggles against vertical passing, Rodgers has all the ingredients for a monster fantasy day. Expect him to stay aggressive, spread the ball around, and keep attacking downfield. Don’t be shocked if he tosses five touchdowns, officially becoming the first quarterback to outplay two AFC North franchises in a single season.
