New York Mets right-hander Tylor Megill (elbow) is going for additional opinions on his injured elbow, but he's likely to require Tommy John surgery, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports. That would be a devastating blow for Megill, who will miss the entire 2026 season if he undergoes the procedure. A sprained elbow forced the 30-year-old to the injured list on June 17. While he had been working toward a return, the Mets shut him from throwing after he experienced forearm tightness in a rehab outing on Sept. 7. Megill made 14 starts this year and went 5-5 with a 3.95 ERA, a 1.36 WHIP, 89 strikeouts, and 33 walks over 68 1/3 innings.--Connor Byrne
