Tylor Megill Likely to Require Tommy John Surgery
Tylor Megill (elbow) is going for additional opinions on his injured elbow, but he's likely to require Tommy John surgery, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports. That would be a devastating blow for Megill, who will miss the entire 2026 season if he undergoes the procedure. A sprained elbow forced the 30-year-old to the injured list on June 17. While he had been working toward a return, the Mets shut him from throwing after he experienced forearm tightness in a rehab outing on Sept. 7. Megill made 14 starts this year and went 5-5 with a 3.95 ERA, a 1.36 WHIP, 89 strikeouts, and 33 walks over 68 1/3 innings.
