The Philadelphia Phillies are placing left-handed reliever Jose Alvarado (forearm) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to Sept. 11) on Friday with a left-forearm strain and are adding right-hander Walker Buehler to the active roster in a corresponding move, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic. Alvarado has only appeared in 28 games out of the bullpen for the Phillies this year after serving a lengthy suspension, and now he'll miss at least the next two weeks with an injury. The 30-year-old veteran southpaw may not be able to make it back until the postseason in October. In his 26 innings of relief in his fifth year in Philly, he has a 3.81 ERA (3.60 FIP) and 1.31 WHIP with seven saves, 32 strikeouts, and seven walks. The Phillies still have a formidable bullpen, but they'll rely on lefty Matt Strahm more against lefties in a high-leverage role now.--Keith Hernandez
