Braelon Allen - Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Fantasy Football Picks for Week 1 (2025)

Braelon Allen - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Braelon Allen start 'em, sit 'em fantasy football picks for Week 1 of 2025. Should you start or sit Braelon Allen for fantasy football lineups in Week 1?

BALLER MOVE: Start in 12+ team leagues

POSITIONAL VALUE: Upside RB3/FLEX

ANALYSIS: New York Jets running back Braelon Allen was given opportunities during his rookie season, but was rarely effective during his debut campaign. As a rookie, the former fourth-round pick out of Wisconsin totaled just 334 yards on 92 attempts. He found the back of the end zone just twice and posted a modest 3.6 YPC.

In the receiving game, Allen caught 19 of his 27 targets for 148 yards and an additional touchdown.

However, during training camp, Allen has been receiving nothing but positive buzz from his new coaching staff, led by former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn. While Breece Hall is expected to remain the team's starting running back, reports suggest that Allen could take a massive leap forward in his sophomore campaign.

Throughout the preseason, Allen has consistently performed at a higher level than Hall. Allen has posted higher efficiency metrics, which suggest he could be in store to take on a larger workload and take rushing attempts away from Hall during the regular season.

While this could occur in the regular season, fantasy managers should opt to hold Allen on their bench in the season opener to see his workload before inserting him into their lineup. Allen remains a top high-impact option but is likely to disappoint facing the highly touted Pittsburgh Steelers defense, especially if he remains in a limited role.

He is projected to be a desperation RB3 with risk in the season opener.
