Packers Acquire Micah Parsons, Sign him to Four-Year Extension
The Green Bay Packers are acquiring All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday and have agreed to a four-year, $188 million contract extension with him, including $136 million guaranteed, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. It's unclear at this time what the Cowboys received in return, but it includes two first-rounders. At $47 million per year, Parsons becomes the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. The Packers were already contenders before this trade, but the addition of Parsons really makes them formiddable for a deep playoff run out of the NFC North. The 26-year-old dealt with a minor back injury during training camp with Dallas, but it's not expected to impact his availability for Week 1 against the division-rival Detroit Lions. Parsons has 52.5 sacks in his four NFL seasons and will be a highly sought-after IDP fantasy asset.
