Minnesota Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach (side) is absent from the starting lineup on Friday in the series opener against the division-rival Kansas City Royals at Target Field. Mickey Gasper will draw into the lineup as the designated hitter and will bat ninth for the Twins against Royals right-hander Seth Lugo. Larnach will miss a second straight game after he was scratched on Wednesday with soreness in his left side. The 28-year-old wasn't feeling good enough to play on Friday after a scheduled day off on Thursday. This is the type of injury that could certainly require an injured-list stint if he doesn't recover quickly. The switch-hitting Gasper should be avoided as a DFS sleeper in the nine-hole. The 29-year-old has never faced Lugo and has gone just 7-for-42 (.167) with no homers and four RBI this year in a limited role.--Keith Hernandez
