Chicago White Sox general manager Chris Getz said on Monday that he expects starting pitcher Davis Martin (forearm) to begin a rehab assignment this week. Further specifics were not provided. Martin was placed on the 15-day injured list in the middle of June due to a right forearm strain. The 28-year-old had gotten some good results before his injury, going 2-7 with a 3.79 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, and a 15.9% strikeout rate in 14 appearances (13 starts) over 80 2/3 innings pitched. Fantasy managers will need to see how he fares in his rehab assignment before determining next steps. However, his poor supporting offense and low strikeout ceiling limit his overall fantasy value, even if he returns fully healthy.--Connelly Doan
