The Milwaukee Brewers have optioned right-hander Chad Patrick to Triple-A Nashville. His roster spot is going to righty Brandon Woodruff (elbow), who's back from the 60-day injured list. The team also transferred outfielder Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) to the 60-day IL. Unfortunately for Patrick, he's the odd man out of Milwaukee's rotation with Woodruff set to make his season debut Sunday against the Miami Marlins. Despite a 3-7 record, Patrick has fared well as a rookie over 19 appearances and 18 starts. The 26-year-old has pitched to a 3.52 ERA with 95:30 K:BB and a 1.30 WHIP in 94 2/3 innings. He looks like a major league-caliber starter and should be back in the bigs later this year.--Connor Byrne
