Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Bob Seymour earned International League Player of the Week honors for his performance last week at Triple-A Durham. The 26-year-old went 8-for-21 (.381) on the week with a double, a triple, three home runs, nine RBI, six runs scored, and a 4:1 BB:K over a six-game span. The 6-foot-3 slugger is slashing .264/.326/.510 with a .364 wOBA and 114 wRC+ through 67 games this season, and his 16 home runs lead the entire International League. The left-handed hitter out of Wake Forest belted 28 home runs last year, but it came with a 30.6 percent strikeout rate. He's improved that to 25.3 percent this season, and perhaps if he can continue to hit, a major league debut could come at some point this year for the former 13th-round draft pick. Despite the big power, Seymour does not rank within Tampa's top 30 prospects and is not a stash candidate for fantasy at this time.--Jarod RuppRead More News
