Parker Meadows Returns From 60-Day Injured List
Parker Meadows (arm) from the 60-day injured list and optioned infielder/outfielder Justyn-Henry Malloy to Triple-A Toledo after Sunday's game in a corresponding move. To make room on the 40-man roster for Meadows, right-hander Ryan Cusick was designated for assignment. Detroit hasn't released their starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Chicago White Sox, but Meadows should be back in there against right-hander Jonathan Cannon. A never issue in Meadows' arm caused him to miss the first 60 games of the season, but now that he's back, he should be the club's regular center fielder. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter was a difference-maker down the stretch for Detroit last year and hit .244/.310/.433 with nine homers, 28 RBI and nine steals in 82 regular-season games.
