Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Hunter Cranton (concussion) opened the minor league season on the injured list due to a concussion. Cranton suffered this injury during a Cactus League game after being struck by a comebacker. While the 24-year-old has been able to slowly start increasing his workload, he is still experiencing concussion symptoms. Cranton joined the Seattle organization last season with a third-round pick from Kansas. He spent time at Low-A with the Modesto Nuts. Across eight 1/3 innings of work out of the bullpen, the 24-year-old posted a 3.24 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP. He held a 4:14 BB:K and did not allow a home run. When he returns to action, he could open the campaign at High-A.--Andy Smith
