JuJu Smith-Schuster is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season.

Kansas City will be looking for someone to step up in Rice’s absence. Smith-Schuster could fill that role. He previously played with the Chiefs during the 2022 season and worked primarily in an underneath/slot receiver role not too dissimilar from how Rice has been utilized the last two seasons.
Smith-Schuster will not replicate Rice’s production, but he could emerge as a quality PPR option if he inherits Rice’s role. The veteran receiver is worth a speculative add in PPR leagues as he could return WR3 or flex value.
Don’t burn a high waiver claim or spend a lot of FAAB to acquire him as this is a fluid situation. It’s also possible no receiver steps up to fill the void. Even still, Smith-Schuster is worth a flyer on waivers if you need a wide receiver.
