Denny Hamlin will start eighth in Saturday night's Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. This marks Hamlin's lowest starting position at Bristol since May 2020, when he started in the 10th position. In 34 starts at the Tennessee track, Hamlin has four wins, 18 top-10 finishes, and 1,199 laps led, the second-most of active drivers. Hamlin won the previous two races at Bristol in the Cup Series in 2022 and 2023 and had a driver rating over 100 in three of the last four Cup events. After 28 races so far this season, Hamlin has three wins, which were collected at Richmond, Dover, and Bristol in the Spring, while gaining 12 top-10 finishes in 2024. In practice, the No. 11 Toyota driver ranked 10th in 30 consecutive lap averages and 19th in overall lap averages. Regardless of his underwhelming practice speeds, Bristol is one of Hamlin's best tracks statistically, and his incredible history indicates that he is worth rostering in any format this week, especially as he needs a strong finish to keep his run for the championship alive. --Sean Engel - RotoBaller
