Tyler Lockett 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Safe WR3/Flex Option
After five straight 1,000-yard seasons and no finishes outside the top 15 wide receivers in half-point PPR scoring, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett ended 2023 as WR33 with just under 900 yards (894) on 79 receptions. His touchdown total regressed, too – scoring less than eight for the first time in that span. Lockett's production dip coincides with Jaxon Smith-Njigba's emergence – effectively creating a three-headed monster at wide receiver for the Seahawks. While it's expected that JSN will eat further into his and D.K. Metcalf's workload in 2024, Lockett is currently off the board as WR49 in NFFC drafts – nearly 20 spots further than his 2023 finish. He's, at worst, the third target on his team, albeit in a brand-new offense. With Mike Macdonald as head coach and Ryan Grubbs as the new offensive coordinator, we will probably see some new schemes and, perhaps, new usage for Lockett in the Seahawks offense. We can't expect the lofty finishes like earlier in his career, but Lockett presents as a WR3/4 with upside if his TD total climbs back up. RotoBaller's wide receiver rankings are on par with this assessment, and the veteran ranks 47th among all wideouts heading into 2024 fantasy football drafts.
