BALLER MOVE: Add in deeper leagues/ AL-only
ROSTERED IN: 10% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Texas Rangers called up infield prospect Justin Foscue from Triple-A Round Rock following the injury of third baseman Josh Jung. The former All-Star is slated to miss approximately 8-10 weeks of play, making Foscue an intriguing waiver wire target.
The former Mississippi State Bulldog was selected by the Rangers with the 14th overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft. Foscue posted a .266/.394/.468 stat line in Triple-A last season, with 18 home runs and 14 swiped bags. He is currently ranked as the fifth overall prospect in the Rangers system, according to MLB Pipeline.

However, Foscue has been riding pine in the majors all week. Instead, Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran have been manning the hot corner in Jung’s absence. This could be a temporary measure as the Rangers opt to be patient with one of their top prospects.
As a result, Foscue should be left on the waiver wire in shallow leagues for now but should be added in deeper and AL-only formats due to his prospect pedigree alone.
If Foscue slowly gets worked into the lineup, he should become a must-add in all formats, as he could boost your team’s power, speed, and even counting stats as he will slot in the middle of one of the best lineups in baseball.
