Today's MLB Betting Picks - Nationals @ Reds
O/U: 9.5 | Moneyline: CIN -170
WAS: Patrick Corbin | CIN: Hunter Greene
Attacking Patrick Corbin is one of my favorite things to do during baseball season. He is known for giving up a ton of production to opposing lineups, and this is noted by his 5.20 ERA and 1.54 WHIP from 2023.
In 2023, the Reds posted a 100 wRC+ vs. southpaws, which ranked just outside the top half of baseball. This is a respectable number and they were capable of getting the job done.
The Reds also have Hunter Greene on the mound against a Nationals team that posted just an 89 wRC+ mark vs. right-handed pitching in 2023. This is the reason I like the Reds in a number of spots in this game. You can opt to bet their team total over 4.5 runs at -135, their moneyline at -170, or their first five moneyline at -180. I am going to opt to play the first five moneyline given the pitching matchup and leave the pens out of this one for the most part.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - Cubs @ Rangers
O/U: 9 | Moneyline: TEX -130
CHC: Kyle Hendricks| TEX: Cody Bradford
This should be a fun matchup between two solid offenses and two lackluster pitchers. In 2023, Kyle Hendricks posted a 4.43 ERA and 1.28 WHIP, so he can be hit. The Rangers also posted a 114 wRC+ vs. right-handers in 2023, which ranked fourth-best in baseball.
On the other side of the mound, the Rangers are throwing southpaw, Cody Bradford, who posted a 5.30 ERA across eight starts in 2023. This is good news for the Cubs as they posted a 110 wRC+ vs. left-handers in 2023, ranking them 10th-best in the league.
Both of these teams have bullpens that left a bit to be desired as the Cubs' pen posted a 3.85 ERA on the season and the Rangers posted a 4.77 ERA. All of this information combined is what leads me to believe we will see some fireworks in this game, making the over a respectable play.
