In his rookie season, Cincinnati Reds infielder Elly De La Cruz flashed his incredible power and speed. De La Cruz hit 13 homers and stole 35 bases over 98 games in 2024. The 22-year-old started hot when being called up in June, slashing .307/.358/.523 with three home runs, 12 RBI, and nine stolen bases over 21 games. He faded down the stretch badly, slashing .199/.285/.361 in the last 50 games. Washington Nationals shortstop CJ Abrams also broke out in a big way in 2023, slugging 18 homers and swiping 47 bags over 151 games.
