BALLER MOVE: Sit in 14+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE2
ANALYSIS: Tennessee Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo had an impressive finish to his rookie season. Fantasy players had high hopes for the young tight end in 2023 but had those dreams crushed after the team signed DeAndre Hopkins in free agency. The second-year tight end is the TE26 for the year, averaging only 4.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
After struggling to start the season with Ryan Tannehill under center, Okonkwo has become a preferred target for rookie quarterback Will Levis. Over the past three weeks, the young tight end is the TE14, averaging 5.7 targets and 7.2 fantasy points per game despite not scoring a touchdown. Okonkwo is coming off a solid five-catch performance in the Week 14 upset victory over the Miami Dolphins.
Today, he has an excellent fantasy football matchup against the Houston Texans. The AFC South division rivals have surrendered 11.4 fantasy points per game to tight ends, fourth-most in the NFL. Tight ends have scored at least 9.2 fantasy points in 76.9% of the games against the Texans this season.
While the RotoBaller rankings don’t trust Okonkwo this week, I believe the second-tight end is an appealing low-end TE1 option in Week 15.
