Early DraftKings CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (9/23/23)

Blake Corum - Fantasy Football Rankings, College FB, RB, NFL Draft Sleepers

The last great college football season rolls into Week 4 this week. We have a huge slate with 14 games on tap for the early main slate on DraftKings. Most teams are in conference play no and we have no FCS teams on the slate. It's starting to get normal. The nooners give us Florida State heading up to Clemson. Marshall hosts Virginia Tech. Oklahoma heads to Cincinnati for the first time since 2010 when they escaped with a two-point win. SMU heads over to Fort Worth for the Battle of the Iron Skillet. Auburn heads to Texas to take on A&M. Michigan welcomes in Rutgers in a battle of 3-0 teams.

We start the afternoon off in Louisville where Boston College will try to avoid beating themselves again. Miami heads up to Philly to take on Temple. BYU heads to Lawrence to take on the Jayhawks. Texas Tech heads to Morgantown to take on the Mountaineers. UCLA heads up to Salt Lake to take on the Utes. Colorado takes the circus on the road again, this time to Eugene. Lane Kiffin heads back to Tuscaloosa to take on the Tide. We end this in East Lansing with Maryland in town.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/23/23, locking at noon Eastern. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

Shedeur Sanders, Colorado ($9,500)

Sanders is the player most important to his team on the slate. Colorado has no chance without him, and he seems to like it that way. Sanders has a low mark of 29.72 DraftKings points on the season. That was against Nebraska when the Colorado offense struggled for the first 27 minutes of the game. The ceiling is there against a bend-but-don't-break Oregon defense.

Tyler Van Dyke, Miami ($8,600)

The Temple defense has been solid, but solid isn't going to cut it against Miami. If the weather is kind of nasty, I might back off of Van Dyke. If it doesn't look like rain all day, I really like Van Dyke in this offense. He only has 18 incompletions in three games to go with his eight passing touchdowns and one rushing score.

Thomas Castellanos, Boston College ($5,900)

Take a peep at what Haynes King and Tayven Jackson did to this Louisville defense already this season. I'll wait. From what I've seen from Castellanos, he is just as good as both of them. He is very underpriced here for a scrappy Boston College team. His added rushing upside gives him a ceiling much higher than anyone else in this price range.

Also consider: Bo Nix, Oregon ($9,600); Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma ($9,100); Payton Thorne, Auburn ($8,000); Emory Jones, Cincinnati ($6,900); Kyron Drones, Virginia Tech ($5,800); Kedon Slovis, BYU ($5,700)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Blake Corum, Michigan ($8,300)

The Rutgers run defense has been good, but Corum is better. He has six touchdowns already in three games despite only logging 37 carries. There's a chance that he gets a heavier workload this week considering the possibility of a close game and the struggles of J.J. McCarthy last week. No Michigan player is completely safe since they substitute a lot, but Corum is at least racking up the touchdowns.

Jawhar Jordan, Louisville ($6,500)

Jordan has racked up 344 yards rushing on just 32 carries. He got his biggest workload last week against Indiana with 18 carries. Jordan has scored at least one touchdown in every game and has added on extra points with five receptions. Jordan has been the model of efficiency and he takes on statistically the worst run defense on the slate. His price feels way too low.

Rasheen Ali, Marshall ($6,000)

His price went up $1,200 and it's still way too low. Ali has scored five touchdowns in two games to go with his 222 rushing yards and five receptions for 47 yards. The numbers against Albany don't say much, but East Carolina's defense is fairly close to the quality of Virginia Tech's. Ali is in for another huge workload in a very winnable game for the Herd.

Also consider: Quinshon Judkins, Mississippi ($7,700); Emani Bailey, TCU ($6,400); Nate Carter, Michigan State ($6,200); CJ Donaldson, West Virginia ($5,900); Kye Robichaux, Boston College ($5,200); Phil Mafah, Clemson ($4,900)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Xavier Weaver, Colorado ($7,200)

Weaver continues to lead the team in targets and could see more with Travis Hunter out. There's nothing wrong with Jimmy Horn Jr. either, I just prefer the guaranteed points from Weaver. He has 19 receptions over the last two games and has scored a touchdown in each one. I don't think I can afford both, but I will have at least one Colorado wideout in every lineup.

Evan Stewart, Texas A&M ($6,700)

Speaking of target hogs, Stewart has 19 receptions in two games for 257 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He didn't play last week against Monroe and Conner Weigman looked like he felt Stewart's absence. I expect Stewart to be heavily targeted against an Auburn defense that has looked pretty good so far.

Xavier Restrepo, Miami ($5,800)

Statistically, this is a really good Temple defense. I'm just not buying it. The same weather caveat applies here as to Van Dyke, but Restrepo has racked up 17 catches for 314 yards in three games. I trust the production. The touchdowns will come, and when they do, it might be in bunches.

Andrel Anthony, Oklahoma ($5,300)

Anthony is leading the Sooners with 14 receptions on 17 targets so far this season. They aren't afraid to spread it around, which is why I gravitate towards a guy like Anthony. The targets are there and they are consistent. He has only scored one touchdown, but if I'm getting a half-dozen points just on yardage at this price, I'm a happy guy.

Also consider: Troy Franklin, Oregon ($6,900); Keon Coleman, Florida State ($6,700); Jordan Watkins, Mississippi ($6,500); Jerand Bradley, Texas Tech ($5,900); Roman Wilson, Michigan ($5,500); Jay Fair, Auburn ($5,100); Jaheim Bell, Florida State ($4,600)

DraftKings CFB Stacks:

Colorado

The Ralphies are the most stackable team because they actually have a fairly clear-cut hierarchy. Most teams don't. Sanders and Xavier Weaver are the obvious places to start and Jimmy Horn is a great addition if you can afford him. Dylan Edwards is a huge risk at the price considering the weapons in the passing game, but if Alton McCaskill makes his Colorado debut this week, I might be interested for the price ($3,800). Tar'Varish Dawson is very affordable and is expected to absorb a lot of the targets intended for Travis Hunter.

Maryland

The Terrapins are a similarly built team to a Washington team that just dumped 40 on Sparty. The Maryland defense might not afford the offense as many opportunities, but the Michigan State defense is going to give them plenty of chances to return value. Taulia Tagovailoa and Roman Hemby are both self-sufficient enough in this offense to return value. Corey Dyches is a highly targeted tight end that is way too cheap. Jeshaun Jones and Kaden Prather are both good options as well. If only using one, I prefer the game-breaking ability of Jones.

Also consider: Marshall, Oregon
