During qualifying on Saturday, Chase Briscoe posted a time of 53.085 seconds, which was good enough for the 4th-fastest time in the session. He will now start from 4th for Sunday's GEICO 500 NASCAR race. Briscoe has made four Cup Series starts at Talladega Superspeedway, posting three finishes between 10th and 14th. He got caught up in an accident in this year's Daytona 500 and ended up finishing 35th.--Jordan McAbee
