Veteran wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie has never been a consistent fantasy player in his NFL career. The former Georgia wide receiver was a fifth-round pick by the Denver Broncos in the 2017 NFL Draft.
McKenzie played 11 games with the Broncos as a rookie, totaling only four receptions on 13 targets for 29 receiving yards. The former Georgia Bulldog played in only one contest with Denver in 2018 before getting waived. McKenzie was claimed by the Bills and had 18 receptions on 30 targets for 179 receiving yards in eight games with Buffalo that year.
The veteran wide receiver spent the past 4.5 years with the Bills. He was never relevant for fantasy players until last year. McKenzie was a popular sleeper candidate in 2022 after the team released Cole Beasley in the offseason. The former Georgia Bulldog had 42 receptions on 65 targets for 423 receiving yards and four touchdowns last season.

Did The Bills Release Isaiah McKenzie?
Unfortunately, McKenzie’s time with the Bills is over. The team released the veteran wide receiver on Friday. The move isn’t surprising, given that Buffalo has added Deonte Harty and Trent Sherfield in free agency this offseason.
What's Next For Isaiah McKenzie?
While McKenzie isn’t a full-time starter, the veteran wide receiver is versatile. Furthermore, he can provide a spark on offense and special teams. The former Georgia Bulldog wasn’t a traditional wide receiver for the Bills. McKenzie was a Swiss army knife for the team, as he impacted the ground game.
The veteran wide receiver will have options in free agency. He’s not a full-time player, but McKenzie can make an offense more explosive and unpredictable.
One possible landing spot is the divisional rival New York Jets. They released Braxton Berrios this offseason. The former Miami Hurricane had a limited role for New York in 2022. However, he had 83 receptions on 120 targets for 825 receiving yards and five touchdowns over the previous two years. Furthermore, Berrios had a role on special teams.
Another possible landing spot is the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team has two young talented wide receivers on the outside with Diontae Johnson and George Pickens. However, their starting slot receiver is an open competition between Gunner Olszewski and Calvin Austin III. McKenzie would provide the team with a veteran option at that position.
Regardless of where the veteran wide receiver lands this offseason, fantasy players have no reason to draft McKenzie in redraft leagues in 2023.
