NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 11/23/22

This slate is too big to cover all of your bases. Find the best plays, take a few stands, and roll with it!

You can check out the latest odds here: Vegas Odds for the Day

As always, ensure the goalie in your lineup is confirmed before the lineup lock! With several teams on a back-to-back, it is a safe assumption to go with the goalie that did not start the previous night. Everyone else you have to double-check! There is nothing worse than having a great lineup but taking a zero at goalie. This has happened to me before and it stinks!

NHL DFS Goalies

Filip Gustavsson DK $8.0K || FD $6.8K

Opponent - Winnipeg Jets

On big slates, I don't want to pay too much for a goalie. DraftKings pricing is tighter while with FanDuel it is more spread out where you can find some values. Goalie is a high-variance position and I want someone in a good spot, but don't want to go too crazy. Filip Gustavsson is 2-4-1 with a 2.86 GAA and a .906 SV% but is favored and playing a Winnipeg Jets team that is 22nd in the league in goals scored.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Sorkin (DK $7.9K || FD $8.8K - Better DK Play), Kuemper (DK $8.4K || FD $7.4K - Better on FD)

NHL DFS Centers

Nathan MacKinnon -DK $9.3K || FD $10.4K

Opponent - Vancouver Cancucks

Whenever the Avs are at home, I am always interested in playing them. Especially when facing the Canucks as Thatcher Demko is allowing 3.87 GAA and a .833 SV% and Spencer Martin is allowing 3.49 GAA and a .898 SV%. MacKinnon has 26 points in 17 games.

Roope Hintz -DK $6.1K|| FD $8.7K

Opponent - Chicago Blackhawks

Hintz and the Dallas top line are always on my list of plays. Tonight they have Chicago. Hintz has 23 points in 18 games played and is averaging just over two shots on goal per game. I recommend pairing with someone else on DAL1 or stacking DAL1 altogether in a GPP.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Barzal (DK $4.9K || FD $7.1K), Rodrigues (DK $4.8K || FD $5.3K)

NHL DFS Wings

Alex Ovechkin- DK $7.8K || FD $7.5K

Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers

Is Ovechkin under $8K going against a the Flyers? I'm in. Yes just 17 points in 20 games but nearly four shots on goal per game and against a bad opponent.

Chris Krieder- DK $6.2K || FD $7.2K

Opponent - Anaheim Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks allow the most shots on goal per game, targeting them is always a must. Kreider has just 17 points in 20 games as well, but is still averaging 3.45 shot on goal per game and is in a good spot here.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):  Rantanen (DK $8.4K || FD $10.0K), Connor (DK $7.2K || FD $7.1K), Pavelski (DK $5.1K || FD $7.8K)

NHL DFS Defensemen

Aaron Ekblad- DK $6.0K || FD $6.1K

Opponent - Boston Bruins

Yeah, it's the Boston Bruins but Ekblad is too cheap. He is on the top Power Play and is averaging 3.6 shots on goal! Although he only has two goals in eight games so far, that should turn around at some point, and when it does, you will benefit!

Vince Dunn - DK $4.1K || FD $5.1K

Opponent - San Jose Sharks

Dunn has 10 points in 18 games played, averages 1.55 shots on goal per game, and one block per game. He is on the top power play and this is a game that Seattle should win. He has 15-18 fantasy point upside for cheap with a solid floor.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Makar (DK $7.7K || FD $8.0K), Giordano (DK $3.6K || FD $4.1K)

NHL DFS Top Stacks

Here is a handful of stacks I like:

  • DAL1: This line has scored the most goals out of all the forward combinations in the league, going against Chicago
  • COL1: If money ain't a thing, I prefer MacKinnon-Rantanen-Makar if doing a three-man stack here. COL2 is a cheaper way to get exposure if needed.
  • CAR1: Inexpensive, at home, has the highest implied total on the slate. CAR2 is fine here as well.
  • NYR1: Ducks give up a lot of shots. NYR2 is fine here as well.
  • STL2: Saint Louis has Bufallo on the second game of a back-to-back for Buffalo. I like this second line on the road in what could be a sloppy, high scoring game.
