Mike Soroka Has Rough Rehab Start Friday
2 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka (Achilles) had a minor league rehab start to forget on Friday night with Triple-A Gwinnett. In five innings of work, he allowed six earned runs on six hits (three homers surrendered) while walking one and striking out six batters. Soroka hasn't pitched at all this year in the majors, but he's now made six rehab appearances between Gwinnett and High-A Rome, posting a 5.40 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 25:7 K:BB in 25 innings pitched. The 25-year-old got beat up on Friday, but he's healthy and is expected to rejoin the Braves here soon to close out the regular season. Soroka hasn't pitched since 2020 for Atlanta, though, so if he does return, it's likely to be in a relief role.
